I was running around New Romulus recently, and I just so happened to see some ancient statues holding what looked like Lirpas, a Vulcan specific weapon. Now this confused me as the only ones living on the planet (until they died) were the Dewans. Why did ancient Dewans make their statues holding alien weapons they had never seen before?

It isn't weird that those statues are there, because that New Romulus was one of planet considered for colonization by the break away Vulcans (that would later become Romulans). But choiced not to, due to severe radiation and fighting among the people, the next planet they got to was Romulus were they settled.

    Sigh.

After the Dewans lived there some Vulcans who lefts Vulcan (and become what we call the Romulans) went there and were going to use it as there home but then left. this is why as a Romulan captain you find the sword from the Vulcan master who was a Romulan.
