I think adding some elements from old sandbox mmos (SWG) to STO can't hurt. Planet's that are at least 100 sqm big with lots of dangerous critters in special areas. Caves and underground installations or prison complexes and settlements. 2 or three 3 of these adventure planets keep people playing like forever if done correctly. These maps could differ in layout from snowy mountains to lush jungles or hot deserts.
Adding vehicles to the game would be the coolest thing since the launch of STO. You could even add treasure hunting or collections to the game with very hard to find items for completion that are scattered all across the universe.
Players would start trading rares for other rares or put them on the exchange which would blow some fresh air into player interactions.
Sometimes it doesn't require expensive voice acting or material from the shows to keep a game running. The art department will hate me for that but it's all it takes. Make these worlds add some basic voice overs which could be done by your own team and let us explore the world. I am pretty damn sure you'll make a fortune with special vehicles in the z-store, with collector's item boxes and much more. We've already seen what your graphics/art department is capable of (Nimbus II), now do it consequently, get the size right and make it an endgame world that's worth our while. If done right we won't see people in space anymore, lol.

Don't count on PWE making this game fun again.
They could call it "WOW!" for Worlds Of Wonder.
And people could wear armor and run around with weapons on their backs and...

I'm with daqhegh...it seems like no matter how good of a suggestion you can come up with, doesnt matter what it is about or how minor it is, i'm thinking if it isnt on their list of things to do they arent going to do it. I cant count the number of times i've gone to start up a bug report thread about some bug i've found only to delete it halfway through. Because...why bother? its not a gamebreaking bug so they arent going to do anything with it. Adding in adventure zones like Nimbus, New Romulus or a non-sucky version of Kobali prime would be nice especially if they have a lot of stuff to do in them. But i'm pretty much just like ehh whatever they arent going to do it. And when they do i'll just be like ehh whatever i'll play in it but it probably wont be any good.
