R&D randomly changes task please add CANCEL function

Okay so I select the project I want to R&D and select start. As I am hitting the mouse button the R&D task SUDDENLY CHANGES So now I'm stuck researching a topic I don't want.

The only option is to cancel for 18,000 dilithium or waiting those 20 hours. After this nit I decided to check my officers...sure enough instead of the R&D project I selected I now have several random projects in process and in some cases completed.

Since I don't expect the actual random R&D task swap bug to be fixed please add a cancel function to R&D.

Not gonna happen.

it would allow folks to check the end result and if they dont want it to abort and still have their materials to use.

only way they would allow it is if you lost the materials as a result.

Well, they could do the unthinkable, and show the result only when finishing, like DOFF assignments...

I hate when this happens, but all I've ended up crafting extra were a few basic upgrades.

i have had that happen a couple of times trying to do canon research and after i start it jumps over to beam research

Or you could just pay a bit more attention. The category selection bug is annoying, but all it really takes to avoid it is looking before you start a project.

Sure, I ended up accidentally crafting a basic upgrade, too. Once. Since then I know the categories can get stuck and always make sure instead of blindly clicking the last project.
