I'd be willing to stop spending the $30.00 dollars I do each month, if you will buy the stuff I want for me.

Basing your opinions on what you read on the Forums can only lead to discouragement. The Forums hardly comes close to expressing the overall reaction of the players to the game. The Forum is populateg by selfserving hypocrits that devour the content while trying to drain all of the fun out of it. This is a place for the set-upon, entitled, whiners come to try and coerce the Dev's into catering to the Vocal Minority,
The vast majority of players just fly thier ships, and enjoy thier time in this little universe. Closing your wallets will only serve to deprive yourselves the items and enjoyment you couls find in the game if you didn't insist that things are done in your image.
You damn apologists. Cryptic can **** up all they want and guys like you always will appear out of nowhere with their disgusting BS.
Go play your precious game then.
If everyone would stop spending money on this game right now. Do you really think they revert everything?
What is most likely going to happen is the following:
PWE will be monitoring the monthly financial reports from STO. Lets assume the income of STO is at absolute zero one month and the following month, its probably more likely that you will see an announcement post that STO will be shut down within the current financial year.
Campaigns like "SaveStarTrekOnline" will pop up with fundraising in the hundredthousands from players that dont want STO to go away. If the game is already at a point of no return because it generated 0$ over a span of 3 or more month, theres nothing that can save it from shutdown.
So if you want to drive a campaign to boycott STO and drying up the income of the game. Feel free. But you might want to have this hypothetical scenario in mind.
At the other hand... people will never stop spending money on this game so it ll be safe
I swear these threads get created at least once every month to the point I'm ready to just throw them in the FCT.
Look, no one at PWE and Cryptic are blind to the fact that a good number of players aren't happy. There are a good number that are. It's the way MMO's work. Dammed if you do, dammed if you don't. When it comes down to building the game, they don't just look on the forums to see what the players are saying, they look in game, facebook, twitter, their own internal testing teams, their families that play, their friends that play, their friends of friends that play and so on. There is a wide net of feedback they take in.
Now HOW do you go about getting change to the game? Well it's not by posting rants, flame wars etc. Yes, the last exploit that resulted in fires did LOOK like it resulted in change. When in reality they listened to people that were calm about the situation, read up on what was going on, looked over their own data and THEN made the decision to reverse the roll back (so kinda a roll back of a roll back hehe). The flames just made it a nightmare of us moderators and the CM's to do the jobs of trying to keep some sanity on the forums.
You want change? Then by all means post CONSTRUCTIVE FEEDBACK. It DOES get listened to. Here is the one caveat to that though, your idea might not be implemented. At all. We don't see their year plan, we can't know what they're planning for Season 10, 11, 12 or the next expansion pack. When it comes down to some MMO games you have to have a little faith in the direction the game is going, and if it's not what you expect then yah post about it but post in a clam non threatening manner. It's like a deer. If you wanna get near it, you don't run at it screaming with a rifle shooting madly at it.
Also, the name calling of people defending cryptic or those hating on cryptic has got to go. It's a violation of the policies for these forums and honestly it's getting sickening to read. If you don't like someone because they're defending cryptic/pwe, then sure post and say why they're wrong. But calling them apologists or flame starters etc is insulting, it starts fights and quite frankly just plain rude.
