Delta Rising and few other things

I am not going to sit here and blast cryptic\PWE but in a game like star trek online there is always going to be problems (That is just the way online games are) but I have to admit that most of the content for Delta Rising was pretty good however I seriously hope they sort out the power tray problem as that is very annoying (I'm sure other members have this same problem and tried all kinds of things however none it works long term)

When thinking about Delta Rising I found the storyline good but the problems of having to level up in between parts of the storyline was frustrating but I am glad that Tau Dewa dailies helped me there. the downside of the storyline line was the excessive amount of patrol missions as in my opinion I found this was a major spoiler in the storyline as it simply too many of them and for me this is one of the few negatives with the DR expansion.

The Kobali adventure zone was fun as enjoyed it but found the spawn times in various areas was crazy as they spawned too quick. but when I finished it and saw the end cut scene it left me with some questions as to the fate of Harry Kim and who the other Harry Kim was (Maybe I missed something there - who knows lol)

If I was to rate the DR Expansion I think for the most part it was good but except for the excessive patrol missions and so officially I rate it 8.5 out of 10 (How did you the other players rate it?)

Its quite uncanny that you started this thread at nearly the same time that I started mine.

I responded to the other thread in detail. My points there stand here too...

My rating would be split between the different elements of the game:
Gameplay - 2/10 - Factors like grind and variety hamper this.
Acting/VO - 6/10 - Some of the best STO has seen. Still sub-par compared to most other MMO's though.
3D Stuff - 8/10 - Some of the most polished models in a very badly aged engine.
Audio - 5/10 - Still has a lot of glitches but generally passable.
Quality - 1/10 - More bugs than an Anthill.

Overall 4/10 - Bugs, scandal's and glitches galore mar what should have been a good addition to STO. Legacy of Romulas while not bug free showed that Cryptic were capable of more. DR was hyped and then not only delivered less, it broke players feeling of connection to the game in a lot of cases (not even including the literal breakage of the Mac client!).
    Chris Robert's on SC:
"You don't have to do something again and again and again repetitive that doesn't have much challange, that's just a general good gameplay thing."

the story is not very good at all. I mean, in a nutshell... I go mind meld with tupac the vulcan where I fight his imaginary undine monsters so he can stop being a basket case. After that I have to flap around fixing problems FOR the federation caused BY the federation ... effectively helping my "not exactly allies here" gain more alliances and become stronger. To do this I get bossed around by a low rank captain "harry carrie" who is unfit to polish my boots or 6 of 9 who is randomly wearing buttcrack showing tights and who thinks I should care about helping her fix her TRIBBLE ups. After that I get to talk to jar-jar binks who needs help cooking a spicy stew, and then we all go off to a random planet where we fight the actual good guys who just want to recover their dead rather than have them borged by some weird virus thingy. While this war is URGENT we stop to go level up in another zone before we can come back here to resume the war effort and carebear activity. After that we discover the good guys are infected with bugs so we ally with them to help solve that problem. The end.

It does not even make an ounce of actual logical sense. Yes, I was a little sarcastic there but that is still the story in a nutshell and it is incoherent and random. I mean, its trekish in that its random stuff going on, but its not a MMO story thread like the JH invasion of DS9 or the nimbus chain or something that FLOWS.

I know for myself that on my Mac last night I was playing for the first time the entire night without the game crashing at all.

However with that I should note that it is possible that something I did helped. As I had to reinstall my Mac due to some glitches from my Windows boot camp wiping the Mac drive... So it is entirely possible that the reinstall of the OS, the re-download, or the patch might have fixed it for me.

Overall I like what they have done.

The Good: T6 ships are fun to learn and reward you for mastering. And you can take those traits back to a favorite T5 and upgrade it to T5U so its fairly competitive with the new shiny T6s. I do like the new area, new allies and enemies. Upgrading equips is nice, already upgraded some favorite pieces i would normally have had to trash. Even like most of the storyline. Some is a bit, dull *cough patrol cough*

The Bad: Bugs.. not the ones i can shoot; talking about the ones that never go away... think tray..

The Ugly: Grind. Storyline quest after last patch gave my char 3%. And its the only quest at that level.. I mean i expect SOME grind in any mmo. Even kinda used to it in STO *cough rep cough*, but really? I have to grind 97% per level? patrols give like 2-4% per run (depending on which partol and what difficulty seeting) STFs actually less - which explains the empty ques nowdays. But 97% grind when the BEST activity i can find is 4% per run?
