scanning for materials

Does anyone know if the materials you can get from scanning anomalies are random or are certain sector blocks/missions more likely to drop rare or very rare materials? Just wondering if it is possible to farm an area like we used to in nebula clusters.

Also, is it me, or is there only 1 anomaly to scan in the delta quadrant patrols?

    Probably random. E.g. I had 2 rare anomalies in 'Stranded in Space' mission.

    Also, is it me, or is there only 1 anomaly to scan in the delta quadrant patrols?
