A good escort can do all three. Any good player can do all three, there are no rules for who does what.

I've had more than a few runs where if I'm not activating power stations in my escort no power stations get activated. Same goes for me closing rifts.

When you're pugging there's a good chance you have to do all three because some other teammates simply can't. I've had some runs where people got devastated by a single typhoon on normal, so they were slightly more useful than an AFKer because they were at least a distraction (for a short time at least). But that's the risk of pugging I guess....

I can also understand the "don't close rifts!" people, the event makes grdinding XP for spec points far more bearable. But those should stick to premade groups with friends/fleets.

In one group I was in we had an engi sat on one satellite. When told to move instead of sitting there his answer was that he was an engi and that satallites are what they do. Which got the response no that is what cruisers are good at, and that there were four so he was leaching sitting on one.

Where the whole rift thing is conceerned I have gone in and closed a rift while someon was fighting the ships, then turned round and helped them finish them off, and then I have taken the agro from another rift and they closed it. It is good teamwork.

As to the 8k and 400ex thing. I have never heard of a fleet requiring that. Dear lord their are plenty of fleets out there that do not insist on that, I am suprised such fleets still exist. Most of the fleets I havelooked at donations increase your rank which increase what you can buy from the fleet stores but are not specific on what they are. I am in one where my characters have mainly donated commodities, DOFFs, marks and have been promoted to the level where I can buy the highest gear available to my fleet at its' current level. Yes I have donated dil but there was no minimum amount and I never felt forced to.
