Lets take a look at a quick comparison...
All those images are from cutscenes, except the one from GTA, that's in-game. Why is it that these other games can have near perfect facial features (in the case of WWE; matching that of the wrestler) when Cryptic can't get a face that resembles anything like Denise Crosby?
I'm puzzled. Someone help me understand this.

They had her right:
Now she's off, a bit like Seven of Nine.

They retroactively changed her to look like that in all her appearances. And I've heard they changed Yar too.
and I don't see how. The original Sela looks FAR more like Denise Crosby.
For one the new one has a massive jaw, a very wide nose, overly chubby chins and a too dark skintone.
The original could have better eyebrows, mouth, the correct hairstyle and such, but in general she looks far more like Crosby and Sela.
This.
The new version of Sela looks like my grandmother. Definitely not like Denise Crosby. The original version was far better.

I mean this genuinely. I do not understand. It is impossible to look at any reference picture of the actress in question, then at the in-game recreation, and consider it to be in any way acceptable; in general as a person at all, and certainly not as the person ostensibly being recreated.
I will say it again, simply for emphasis. I do not understand. It seems so utterly elementary to me, and yet this has happened. This is a thing that has happened. How? Who created this? What decision making process implemented it? How many people saw this and wrote off on it?
I. Do. Not. Understand.
Yes, I am employing rhetoric, but my confusion and bafflement is utterly honest.
