Ok I know this is going to be met with tons of flaming....but can any of you help me out with a Plasmonic Leech console? I only have like 5 mil and I really want/need one. I dont have much else to offer, but you can have all my R&D supplies and my Phantom would be at your service. im Christopher@vekares227. I will be on around 7ish EST. I know its asking a lot, but you will have a good captain willing to run whatever. I also have 125 Lobi crystals, so if you want anything around that price its yours.

You do realize you don't have to tell people the approximate time you are on right? If you give them your @handle a simple friend request regardless of not being answered will tell when a person is on. They can also just mail it to you.

Your@handle is the name to the right of the @ in game. So yes in this case you listed it as the same as your forum name.

currently they run for 40-50 mil the last I checked. sometimes you may see it for the 30-40 mil range.

run galaxy tour every day for 3 months... that should get you the 50 mil or close to it.

And thats the first flame. Is it out of your system now? Do you feel better? I didnt ask anyone to give me one for free, just discounted. Im not asking for a hand out and im not begging, the Lobi store costume items go from to 25 mil. I have ton of mid level R&D items. I could grind for months and I may, but I would rather not if I dont have to.

I got my first one for like 600k, I think. :) (I have several ones, from the pre-loadout era; the last one I got for 2 mil. Then I stopped)

At this point it's not really about that. As a self-proclaimed good-hearted person, I wouldn't really want to give out my hard-earned EC to someone with the means to buy a Phantom.

If you had a sob story about being TRIBBLE or being a poor F2P on disability, I'd probably be inclined to help out.

But what I feel comfortable helping you with is how to get that monster load of EC in the first place.

    Step 1:

    1. Gather R&D Materials

    2. Get Beams crafting skill up

    3. Make plasma/antiproton beams and pray to RNG for a good mod

    4. Sell the crafted beams on exchange.

This is a fairly straightforward way of making money IMO, and it's much better for people who don't have the patience to save money for a few months.

And that was no flame either. But, yeah, if you can afford a 3,000 Zen (ca. 95 mil) ship, you can afford a lowly Leech.

Or maybe the OP couldn't afford both? Happens to me all the time: 'Shall I just upgrade gear for this here $100? Or buy a Dauntless too?' This month I chose the former; maybe next month a Dauntless. That is how it works. Choices, gotta love em!

One other way to get some EC, is to run the foundry Mission Officer reports :Gorn Space.

Just be sure to loot, and sell the junk after words. Granted , it may be anywhere from 100k to a few million a day, but along with other ideas, It all adds up fast.

Plasmonic leech is overrated. I don't have it on any of my ships and I've never had any problem killing things.

Ok I have a sob story. My name is Chris and my last initial is C. I grew up in the 80s where everyone was named Chris so in school the teacher would use the last intial to identify the different Chris'. So I was referred to as Chris C (chrissy) my entire childhood. If that doesnt deserve a Plasmonic Leech, I dont know what does

Please don't berate the OP, people. He's just making a simple request. If you do not want to fulfill it, then don't. There is no need to badger the poster for making the request.

He wants a Plasmonic Leech console, so he asked for one. There is nothing wrong with asking.

Now, I'm not going to give away a Plasmonic Leech console, primarily because mine are all bound, but also because I just can't afford to give something like that away.

However, I will give him some decent advice.

    1. Take your time. Getting stuff in this game is mainly an issue of grinding. The best way to deal with the grind is to be patient. Sure, it's slow, but if you keep progressing, slowly but surely, you will get there.

    2. Level up an R&D school to 15. While you are at it, run Elite and Advanced queue missions in order to get very rare R&D materials. Once you level an R&D school to 15, then start producing Superior Tech Upgrades from that school. When you produce those Superior Tech Upgrades, put them on the Exchange. To set your Exchange price, just look up the current lowest price per unit and post your item for 1 EC less than that. That's how I post things on the Exchange (I know some people hate me for that, since I'm always poaching sales this way. I'm the person that keeps undercutting Superior Science Tech upgrades by 1 EC :P)

    3. DOFF. Do DOFF missions. In particular, do the Gamma Quadrant Commodities missions and any missions that yield Contraband. Sell them on the Exchange the same way as you do the tech upgrades, by undercutting the lowest price by 1 EC. *NOTE: Sales come more rapidly if you separate your stacks and put your items up on the exchange one unit at a time while still undercutting the lowest price per unit. For some reason, when people see 10 individual items for a price and then a stack of the same items for the same priceX10, they tend to gravitate towards the individual items for some reason. I suspect that they simply are searching by price points instead of price per unit.

    4. When your crafting junk to speed up R&D leveling, focus on crafting the items that most readily sell for decently large amounts of EC on the exchange. So if you are leveling the Engineering R&D school, then you might want to consider crafting a bunch of Mk X Neutronium Alloy consoles since they sell particularly well, even at Mk X. If you are leveling the Science R&D school, then craft a bunch of MK X Field Generators since they also sell well. If you are doing Cannons or Beams, then sell Antiproton Mag Regulators and Disruptor Induction Coils. It's all about studying the market and responding to the market's demands.

There are many other helpful hints that could help you earn more EC in game, and others may very well follow up my post with further good advice. Listen to what they say. If you don't like a particular piece of advice, then simply ignore it, since this is a game after all and there really are no negative consequences.

I had to spend many millions of EC to get my Plasmonic Leech consoles, but doing so made me more aware of how to increase EC acquisition in STO.

Once you start making EC more efficiently, you will soon find yourself able to afford that shiny console that you have your heart set on.

    Happy hunting!

No, it doesn't. You're talking about just the MACO set (which is kinda crappy, really). Besides, Leech is better.

LMAO ooooh noooes!!! You haz one and wont give it to me???? How can I be expected to live??? You feel better? You sure told me! I guess im gonna hafta go fudge myself with a Jefferies tube.

I was reaching out to find a good person in this board to give my Jem'Hadar Dreadnuaght away to. I dont need a Plasmonic Leech I can afford it. No one decided to be a good person, so im going to try in game. Good job being nice people. Im so sick of the the game culture attitude. There this entitled sense of accomplishment because you play a game. No one else can have what you have and god forbid if they ask for anything. My request had nothing to do with free. I was offering around 20 mil for something that goes for 50. I thought that ONE of you would think, "hey guy needs help, I got one laying around doing nothing." But even that is considered "begging". This is what angers me. Asking or bartering is not begging, nor is straight up begging in a game, its a game and we play online games to be part of a community, but when that community is mean spirited children that play to spite others, who wants to be a parr of that??

Sorry for the rant, but attempt to reward kindness was just met with more elitest attitude on virtual items.

The worst beggars are the ones who pm you in game "right after scoring a lockbox ship"
I had some lowlife pm me in game right after I aquired a Benthan crusier from the Delta Lockbox...Like 3 secs later he messaged me...
May I buy your Benthan Crusier for 10 keys and 10 mil ec pls ? He asked

    I replied "no thank you"
What do these ppl just watch the ship announcements ? Then Lowball offer everyone who obtains a ship from a lockbox ?
Disgusting...(ship is selling for 80-90 mil ec)

In your case I have no issues with your request...not like you pm'd me in game, that's just annoying.
I don't understand why the hater's here can't just ignore the thread if it bothers them.
Maybe they feel better about themselves for belittling someone. :/

Here's a solution for the moment. Buy a Maco Shield from the rep, it boosts your power levels when you are under fire. Its relatively cheap and easily obtainable. Use the Maco shield until you have the funds to afford the plasmonic Leetch.

Its funny when the Leetch was new, I saw ppl giving them away for free.
Then they became a mil ec on the exchange....then 5-10-15-20...

When I bought my second Leetch, it took longer then expected because the price kept rising and rising before I could make up the ec necessary to buy it.
Anyway I finally got that 2nd one but it took more time then expected.

But at this point I think the price is pretty stable. So you wont have to worry about the price rising much....Id consider giving you one but the 2 I have are already bound.

Its crazy, one guy in my fleet gave away like 6 of them when they were brand new...he says now he wishes he'd saved them, but at the time, not many were giving it its due as a great item. Live and learn.

So like others have said, craft some beams and sell your r&D research materials or crafted tech upgrades. Do Foundry missions with lots of action, fill your inventory with Deflectors, Sheilds, warpcores, and engines, sell these to the vendor at esd.
Send any low value items to the replicator so you can have a full inventory of Deflectors, sheilds, engines and warpcores.

That my best advice to you.

Thankfully everyone isn't like that. I have a habit of "im not going to use it, here maybe you will". Had I a leech console crated I'd have probably sent it to you, for no reason other than you needed one. Unfortunately I have only one on the fed side and never bothered getting more due to I play KDF mostly and own the ship that they come from. Crafting is a good example also. I have no intentions of crafting even a spitball in the game so any time I end up with a tech upgrade, it goes via mail to someone in my fleet who I know does crafting. Then again, that's the way my entire fleet is. The very few boxes I've opened and got consoles from, well I wasn't going to use them so I gave them away to people who just happened to be standing nearby lol. I don't know, maybe it's a generational thing? I'm in my 40's and was taught manners, and to help people if they asked, and even when they don't, and to generally be an honest and nice person.

Yup thats how our fleet operates, if someone has items they cant use or already has, they either put it in the fleet bank or ask if anyone needs it. Unless it something super valuable, then it goes into Vica Admiral holdings for our giveaway draws we have every so often.

I won a third Leetch in a draw my fleet had, but I didnt need it, so offered it to one of my fleet budddies, they were so happy, it made me feel happy.
    Giving is the best feeling.

Yup, you were. And most of us would rather have a Zemok for 10 mil, instead of 40. Or pay 40 mil for that lockbox ship, instead of a 100.

I could grind for months and I may, but I would rather not if I dont have to.

And most of us would rather not.

There's entitlement in this thread alright; yet, sadly, it's all yours. You didn't get your Leech because allegedly people are so mean, but because of this simple reality: instead of just waiting and/or grinding for months, they saw you rather have it all right NOW. I recognize that desire, of course. Who doesn't?!

Naturally, having said you just bought a 3,000 Zen ship didn't exactly help either.
