As you may (or may not) be aware, the state of PvP in STO is the worst it has ever been in the history of the game. It appears a PvP balance pass was not done on any of the new items, abilities, or ships. In the past, this was not a huge problem because it was only 1 or 2 things things that would generally get released that would be way out of balance for PvP, but eventually they would get fixed.
However, now there are a plethora of imbalanced aspects that make PvP not fun to play any more, including but not limited to overpowered T6 ships, certain Intel powers, new wepons, and new abilities that when combined can add up to 100's of thousands of damage in hitpoints in a very short window, all while at the same time disabling the target so they do not even have a chance to defensively or offensively counter the attack. This makes the old double-tap beam overload look like a drop in the bucket.
I was curious if you plan on addressing these issues or if this imbalanced state of PvP gameplay will be the norm from here on out.
Thanks for your consideration. A reply would be appreciated.
do 1 little thing devs, put a modifier on everyone's ship in pvp so it has between 10% and 25% more hitpoints. thats what i think the big problem is currently, all the DR stuff just blows away player ships 5 times over.

Know what I do when faced with attacks that cause 100's of thousands of damage in hitpoints in a very short window?

I love how Devs even started a thread about how to change boff powers and asked for suggestions from the playerbase .
Not a single 1 was done in any light for DR.

not everyone can run a killer FBP setup, ive tried it before on my ship, but only having a LT sci just does not cut it, of course im a tac in an escort, so using FBP for my particular ship (bug) is out of the question, it does hardly anything to the attacker and sacrifices a heal that i should have. When i come across a FBP build i just stop shooting it till its on CD,,i have once in the arena however ran into a whole team running FBP and TBR, needless to say that was a joke as when one guy ran FBP i moved to another target then he would run it too, so i never could get clean shots off without blowing myself up (we all know with FBP the higher your dps the more comes back at you) when your pushing high crit and dps on an escort and smack someone with a high crit BO attack and it comes back at you, you almost one shot yourself lol.
PvP has never been truly balanced, but the closest it's been was before F2P. Since then it's just been continually getting sillier and sillier, with LOR and DR being the largest bumps in craziness.
AFAIK the devs that were posting occasionally in the PvP subforum have been silent since DR released. Maybe they've come to the conclusions that PvP is finally FUBAR'D for good and are over it?
I don't see how they could balance for PVP at this point considering what is need to complete advanced and elite pve content now. That's why I play other games for PvP. STO is a PvE game from DR on out. Accept it.

That wouldn't solve the problem of endless disables and would also make playing damage dealer on non-t6 ships impossible. It is hard enough to vape t6 ships in a BOP as it is now, but doable, BOP without intel would be useless against double hp.
Nerfing damage and cc from intel powers against players would work better.
Noted that everything was where it was supposed to be. Checked my DOffs. Six space DOffs were slotted. 2 shield distributions officers, 3 damage control officers, and 1 quartermaster
Swapped out my warp core for a new fleet warp core.

Checked my DOffs. No space DOffs were slotted.
Reslotted the DOffs.
Saved to loadout to Main.
Moved back to Qo'Nos system space. Everything okay.
Went down to Qo'Nos. Did stuff. Made NO changes to the loadout.
Back to Qo'Nos system space. Everything looks good.
In and out of Mirror Event. Everything still looks good.
I'm afraid to switch ships or to use my other loadout, though.

PVP was not "always broken" There was a time when pvp was fun and enjoyable and new and experienced players helped each other to gitgud. I know because i was there in the borg ship yard learning to play & the majority of us all put our time in. Each of us got killed a lot and slowly learned the ropes, then as we got better we would alternate between slaying and mentoring new pilots who wanted to learn. It was a beautiful thing to behold - until the day the offense buff came...
I miss those days - it's disgrace for a company who has complete control over the state of the game to dismiss and force everyone into this style of pvp. Over a year ago i made my own "pls Prove to us you still give a damn about pvp" post with lots of suggestions. Utlimately the post was dismissed with some lip service and a"wait and see" philosophy - Well, we've waited, we've seen. And everyone has found this system is left wanting. (save the people who pay to win) But i'd hazard to guess pvp on ez mode is a lot less satisfying than most pretend it is.
I think the reason for the p2w model is obvious, so i'm willing to say this now - I want to support a server with pvp that is free from P2W overgearing nonsense and will would like the option to support the existence of, & a return to this style of play. If the p2w ppl love p2w so much - I humbly suggest they fight their own, and give everyone else who plays causualy, as well as the new people a chance to learn the game without getting steamroled by bored people with more money than skill.
If people want to use $$ to gear up - then let them try their skill on the other p2w players. Some of us want a pure challenge.
P.S.
To say to us PVPERs ;"That's just the way it is" Is a fine thing to say in the real world - but this is a virtual one - everything is decided and can be adjusted if the team is willing to provide us with a real pvp experience. Personally.. I don't think anyone at Arch is a stupid; This is obviously the direction they feel is best for the game. I think myself & many others simply wanted to make our voice heard.
I fully expect to have to look elsewhere for competitive and enjoyable PVP in the coming months, but i hope your new business model pays off.
Funny part is, if you omit the 3 general forums (general discussion, the academy, ten forward)
the PVP forum has the most posts and replies, except for the bug report forum (haha!) (galactic news has more replies).
So specific content/game related, PVP forum is the most active forum, yet cryptic says less than 5% players do pvp. Maybe pvp players are the loudest and chattiest...

Maybe... but then that just means the mods aren't doing their job. I'm also not sure if I agree with you that people are posting in the wrong forums so much that we would have to say, well people are so stupid you can't count on the pvp numbers. General discussion is probably full of TRIBBLE. But im sure the Bugs forum has mostly bugs. But anyways im gonna say my point still stands, the PVP forum is one of, if not the most, active forum here if you disregard the general and non STO related forums.

Some folks have stated why they post there - even when it has been pointed out in the thread that they should have posted it elsewhere.
General Discussion has the most visibility. Most folks sit in General Discussion rather than on Today's Post...Hell, how many of them even know about Today's Post?

...heh, I built up the majority of my post count in the PVP forums - so yeah, I know it was very active for a period of time. But it hasn't been very active outside of stuff that belongs in Ten Forward or doesn't belong on the forums at all for a long time.
I am afraid the current state of this game is leaving me with a bitter taste. I can fly a T6 ships and spam Ionic Turbulence 3 while easily winning every engagement. It is not difficult at all. Pound for pound having Ionic Turbulence is a game winning skill. There are other skills that do this too, but most importantly the T6 ships have ruined the game a bit for me. This is why I am starting to play other games such as Mech Warrior and Space Engineers. The current pvp status is just not fun. Either you use the ONE thing that wins, or you lose, A LOT.
It is not the game I loved, and until it is either changed or fixed in some manner, I will slowly be pushed twords other games. Eventually at the current rate there will be no more Vegie flying around. Granted not a lot will miss me, but I wont spend money here anymore. I wont support this game, because it became something that is not fun.
Sorry Cryptic, you cant just ruin PVP and expect the PVP players to stick around. I am sure that the loss of the 10 of the PVP community wont hurt much. But when all of them are gone, and PVP goes away, the game will die since the PVE players will come and go as they please. The PVP players atleast stick it out.
What we need now are real hard counters for t6 disable and debuff effects. There is a lack of chance of what you can do when, for example, you are into the ionic turbulence disable cloud or when you are disabled for several second by emp probe. In that scenario, you cant even redistribute your shields if there is no tt available at the moment (like the old black TRIBBLE console before the fix), and that's quite unbalanced. And i will not talk about the strength of neutronic torp... We need an old "duality" situation, where an ability debuff can be countered from another one (nuke->sci team vm->eng team etc...)
I don't know, as it is now, pvp is really in a bad state, so please devs, i love this game, but give us something we can use for balance's sake!

Have you tried slapping on a pair of monotanium alloys when fighting someone with the torp? You've got a real hard counter right there. Bonus: it also protects you against the isokinetic cannon.

Dude, believe me, i know what i'm doing lol, i'm running a double a2d doffed contortrix with 2 fleet neutronium mk 14, i've always more than 52% overall res with almost 60% peaks with special starship traits, and apparently sometimes doesn't help

Well, it wasn't helping because most of the time when I would attack you I would nuke off your buffed resistances. If I didn't do that you would have survived a lot more, but then again, if I was tac I would be doing so much damage I wouldn't need the nukes. The torps are good, but when you combine the disables with 6-7 different vape strikes, it's not like I rely soley on the torps for the kill. There's just way too much that can be done with the Faeht and not enough counters.

Yeah i agree completely, that's the exact point. Btw, do you know guys if there is another dev to contact now for pvp-side? We need someone with whom to discuss about.
