I was in one of the MUE and had notice all the players with me were 700 day VET. My skill level is very high already! I was under my FED Fleet Admiral and they were all about the same level.
All ROM SCH War-bird ships except one was T6 Phantom Class Escort . That MUE was quickest mission event that was done right. Everything was closed and transferred there was 4 min timer clocked down. The I.S.S. name changed ship came out and was gone so fast by the time I could spot it.
Those 700 day vets made playing the MUE fun! I hope to run into you all again! Thanks for the pleasure working together as a team effort!

First of all, it's actually MIA. Mirror Invasion Advanced.
Second, while it's nice that you had a nice game, I would like to take this opportunity to point out one thing. Veteran rewards do not make an excellent player (or, as you experienced, team).
Infinite possibilities have implications that could not be completely understood if you turned this entire universe into a giant supercomputer.
This is so true. It is more a combination of the player's abilities, ship, gear, and the ability to use team work.
When running the mirror on normal, and everyone wants to do nothing but activate power stations, and no one closes rifts, you end up having a harder time closing rifts, and protecting the station. But so many want to either just shoot and nothing else, or they want to do anything but fight.
Congrats on having a good group of players that knew what they were suppose to do. When pugging, that is rare.
if you close the rifts then more MU ships can't enter the fray. You really neet to pick up a decent sci ship captain to wizz round and close the rifts, he also needs to have a tank with him to take aggro. and a cruiser will enable the power relays quicker, but as the sci is wizzing round they can be done too.
The face that a 700 vet is in the team means nothing. you could in theory be a complete noob at the game and but the LTS, which will give you the +5 bonus.
I've not bothered yet playing the Adv, but as the event goes on the play get better. usually but the end of the event you can get through the missions quite quickly
This.
I would be wonderful if the majority would finally get that. Had some terrible expiriences while pugging cause people only spammed BFAW all over the place and nobody bothered to close the rifts.
Yesterday I had a run with 2 other sci guys besides me and it was marvelous.
>tfw running with your scibros and closing all the rifts, so the team waits for 3 minutes for the dreadnought, probably playing poker
Odan Brota (Science Officer): Captain of a 28k DPS Scryer Intel Science Vessel, U.S.S. Kepler
Patiently waiting for a Romulan Science Vessel
And, to be fair - you can also close rifts with any class, the extra speed buff for the Science Vessel is not that important if you have someone to draw aggro. You could also have the SV guy throwing a Gravity Well and a Gravimetric Torpedo torpedo spread to draw aggro. But it tends to be easiwer with BFAW or CSV, because they have shorter cooldowns, and it really doesn't take much for NPcs to hate you. (A Science Captain btw. can be nice here, because a Subnucleonic Beam can end any Beam Fire At Will effects quickly. but again - cooldowns too long to be reliable)
you need to close 29 rifts before the 2nd wave when the boss spawns...
otherwise you just need to close a min of 14 rifts and keep station HP up and get all 5 levels of defense.
Why? you need to close 6 rifts during the boss fight... that puts you at either 35 rifts closed for 25 bonus marks or 20 rights for 20 bonus marks.
closing less than 29 rifts before the 2nd wave nets ya jack... your better off killing ships for xp and possibly purple drops.
if your group is fast... and you have 20 odd rifts closed already but cant make it to 29... your better off parking and farming the rift when ships come out for the next few mins.
Yes having a team of players who know how the event should be play out helps. But I was referring to the 700 day VET players all the players were them and just me. I found that experience wonderful. True they have be on STO for seven hundred days roughly 1.9 years. Bravo to them to being on so long.
Everyone who has the right ships and gear to take on the MIE and make it fun is best way to play the MIE. But in all it was fun night for me on 11.10.14.
I just wanted to point out this to all here on STO! Team work can go a lot more in this online game!
Time will only tell!
WARNING: OP posted about an experience they enjoyed.
KILLJOY MODE ACTIVATED
TARGET: Happy player

SO MUCH THIS....
I think it needs to be renamed into subscriber reward status not veteran reward status, and then separate the 2, giving REAL vets something to be proud of...
now get off my damn lawn all of you darn kids.
700 day Vet just saying who was in there so there 4 of them and me. I am not 700 day vet so just saying it was a pleasure to play with them in MIE. We all can have fun time in the game that's all.
Time will only tell!
that being said...heres to hoping the 3k day vet reward is a 10% xp boost :P
Second, I remember you from a 'normal' ground stf. While the new players were learning, you were typing, "I am a 700 day veteran; therefore, I am the one in charge. Do as I say!" When the stf finally came to an end, I was the one who had made the most damage. rofl...
Skill is not measured in days.
Skill is only achieved by learning from failure.
You have to fail at something before you can become good.
You have to fail terribly at something before you know what success looks like.
I will never-ever brag about my experiences. Since 'Star Trek: Online' players come from different skill sets, the most important thing to me is having fun. I love playing with STO's wide diverse player pool. Even though I have managed to become a skilled player, I am continuously learning something new. I am not perfect. I am not even great.
Patience makes you a good player.
Good sportsmanship makes you a good player.
Learning makes you a good player.
Teaching makes you a good player.
Humility makes you a good player
While I may be skilled at this game, I know for a fact that I am not the best. I am not trying to be the best. I am just trying to have fun, period. I love playing STFs with everyone.
You are clearly not thinking with a 'cool head'.
Time will only tell!
I might have been driving that phantom. I ran it today and that very thing happened. I was like WTF?? noting to do?? waiting for the clock to wind down
Uh, I think you misunderstood me. MI denotes Mirror Invasion, and N or A denote the difficulty (Normal or Advanced). It could be useful to remember these things to avoid confusion in STF channels and what not, hence my earlier comment.
Also, ever since lifetime subscribers gained automatic access to all veteran rewards, you cannot be certain that somebody has REALLY been subscribed for 700 days. In any case, they're people who have paid a lot of subscription money, in bulk or in small bits. :P

Ah, I was wondering how the map is supposed to be concluded on advanced.
Like everything with DPS.
Look into it and have a nice day in STO.

If you want to draw aggro, try Transphasic Torpedo Spread 2.
My torpvette puts out a minging 5k DPS (ish, since ICA is unplayable I havent been able to get a decent reading) but with a Mk14 Rapid Reload transphasic torp up front I'm pulling aggro from everything..evenwith a Rom-Embassy Science console with -70% threat gen.
