I think it's true to say that Republic Bridge Officers are coded to whichever faction they originate from, be that as a level reward, or via a Duty Officer assignment. The person acquiring these obviously knows exactly what they are, but nobody else does.
It is also true that FED-aligned Republic Bridge Officers have different tailor options to the KDF-aligned Republic Bridge Officers.
When purchasing a Republic Bridge Officer from the Exchange, some of which can be quite pricy - I think anyone would be lucky to purchase a Very Rare Reman for under 1mil - there is no way to tell whether said Officer is of the FED-alignment or the KDF-alignment, and thus, if incorrectly purchased, some tailor options aren't available to the player.
I would like to request a small FED and KDF image be placed on the Republic Bridge Officer Icons so that it'll show their allegiances, thus saving people from making the incorrect purchases.
