Floaters, Levels, and me

I've mentioned this before but didn't specifically ask the question. Seems there is another I need to front as well that is probably related.

I'd like to test my maps with a floater attached to my back. It would be much easier to move around instead of resetting the spawn point if I need to see on the other side of an obstacle. My foundry character is still a cadet and I haven't had any issues with that so far.

What can I do to obtain one? I have enough of the lohut things if that is an issue. Or do I need to publish the mission to use it, which would defeat the purpose altogether. As a notation, I don't have the intention of using it in the actual mission, just as a tool for edits.

And the other related question, is being a cadet the limiting factor?

thanks

The issue I think is not really character level, but the fact that you can only get floaters during the Risa event, which won't be on until next summer.

Floaters are still available from the vendor on Holodeck. Power boards have gone, but floaters are still there.

I think the real issue is if the floater will work on the Foundry map.

But to answer your question, it should be possible to buy a floater in Foundry. Go to a space map in your mission and hit warp out of system beside your map. This should put you in sector space. Then, just fly to Risa, beam down to the resort and go to the vendor. You will need to transfer the favours to the foundry character. I don't know if account bank will work, but mail should. Also, no idea if the summer resort is available in the foundry, but it will only take a few minutes to check.

However, having just tried this, you need to be level 10 to get onto the map. So.... I guess it can't be done unless you want to level your foundry character. Lots of work for somethiung that might not even work.

I also would like to see floaters in foundry, but more for testing missions which will use them - last time I've tried to get to the Risa map, I wasn't able to get there (my foundry char is lvl50).

For viewing the maps I would prefer that they bring us back the freecam tool. This is missing much since we lost it and was surely more comfortable to use than floaters could do.
