"Female KDF Talaxians are no longer labeled as Male."
...REALLY!??! PvP is dying, PvE space is turning over stone cold, and the patch notes include this with no regard to fixing Intelligence issues or some of the ridiculous Elite PvE space content.
I've been doing PvP for almost the entire time on this game, and right now it's more dead than it has ever been. All this Intelligence stuff is way overpowered in a player vs. player schematic. It doesn't matter at all in PvE, but we're really feeling it in PvP. There's too much disabling, way too much spike damage, and absurd amounts of debuffing of targets.
When an engineer in one of the new Eclipse Cruisers can kill a 96,000HP Galaxy tank with a few beam shots, I know something is drastically wrong and it needs to be fixed.
I've heard nothing but complaints from friends concerning the Intelligence Bridge Officer Abilties, and it needs to be known by the development team.
***There's nothing wrong with fixing things like the gender labels, what's disturbing is that something like that is being addressed when MUCH bigger issues are lurking around***
Also what the heck with the ugprade system? you buff up the AI and debuff all the players? of course your new intel ships do fine, but heh the C-store always works!
Do you even listen to your players? or does it take your precious C-store profits to tank when players give up before you stop fapping to your accountants and actually listen?
99 ****ing bugs on the wall 99 bugs in all, given all semester and 99 ****ing testers, their wiill still be 99 ****ing bugs on the wall

I imagine that particular fix took all of 5 minutes. I like pvp, I'd say almost love it. But lets admit it, PvP balance takes a lot of work, both actual work and theory crafting. And no developer for any game has ever got it perfect. And there are a lot of legitimate bugs to fix.
You guys need to realize how fixng things work. The female Talaxians not being labeled as male probably took someone a minute or two to only swap some text in the code. Literally.
Fixing PvP imbalances in this game will take much more than that.
And this patch notes are a fat batch of PvE fixes and adjustments, so they're obviosuly working on that. Smaller fixes like labeling Talaxians, fixing skirts and such will always come on the side of somthing important and before something else more imporant because they're minor touch ups that could be fixed and added to the game relatively easy and without wasting much time. Also, like voporak said, not every dev. works on everythng, nor is qualified to do so.
What was they doing before release? playing with their balls?
Surely some quality control has to be done before a release, or are they really that much out of touch with their own game and it's content? if that is the case, then it clearly shows they need to spend more time with their players, listening to their needs rather then smashing out new content with bugs that really are embarrassing.

You want PvP fixed well them apply to PWE and work on the code yourself and make it the way you want it.
The last time I but in a bug report there was millions of other tickets in the system, do you have any idea what it takes to code a game, checking to see if the fix you come up with works correctly and doesn't conflict with other content in the game.
I am happy with the fixes that are coming out, they have 1 week to check and see how many of the fixes they come up with will actually work. So they probably have someone or a few someone's working on the PvP part of the game but they have yet to figure it out, or PvP is just they way they want it to be and you just need to get your ship, gear and captain maxed out.
If you have done this already then if you really thing a Galaxy Class ship can take on a T6 ship with its new abilities that is where you are mistaken. All of my ships are T5-U ships that I am leveling up and I have seen these T6 ships in action, unless you are in a T6 ship you can not match them in class. Or look at it this way You are Loki and they are the Hulk and I quote "Puny God"
So do they have their priorities straight, yes they do. They fix what they can as quick as they can and try to do it with out breaking something else in the process. Be happy they fix anything its a free to play game they could just release things and not care if it causes problems, never fix anything and leave us to either just deal with it or quit.

So whats to stop everyone just buying T6 ships and well owning? nothing? right okay.. maybe thats why they made that stupid ****ing upgrade system for our weapons also?
Basically a good total of players will happily hand over their dosh to Craptic, get their T6 and be happy, so PVP will become a flurry of nothing but T6 ships, with players THEN moaning they only see T6 ships in PVP... well.. DUH... hence the moaning NOW about balancing before everyone has bought a ****ing T6, because once they have loads of T6's everywhere and they change the T5-U's their will be MORE moaning about how they just paid for a T6.
Do it now.. sort it asap..stop drooling over your C-store income and make the move to balance things NOW.

PVP queues are completely dead at this time, and pve queues are pretty slow too. Intel abilities have totally ruined this game, especially surgical strikes, ionic turbulence, emp probe, and override subsystem safetys.
As a PVE player, I recognize that PvP is usually an afterthought...added for those few who want it. The Devs allow you to enter certain maps and "Pew Pew" @ each other. WAI.
In a primarily PvP game (example EVE) the opposite is true, and it caters to a very different customer base.
Adding PvP to a PVE game *always* hurts PVM balance, if PvP is in any way considered in balance changes.
When the Devs added Klingons, it was with the intent that this would serve as PvP content. Imagine their surprise when the majority of Klingon players instead demanded PvE content for them.
If you're *really* serious about PvP (not a mindset I can really relate to) I can clearly see that this game shouldn't be your first choice.
It's Star Trek *first*. Its a PvE RPG *second*. Its a PvE mmorpg *third*. Its a space combat simulator *fourth* (maybe fifth or sixth) and a ground combat simulator maybe *tenth*..or farther down the list.
PvP, is perhaps 150th down the list...which is a lot higher than some of us like it, but we understand that its easier to shove some cobbled up version of it in game to silence the PvP tyrants, than it is to mod the posts of a few vocal folks who never cease to demand it.
There are people who demand PvPin *every* game. If they ever make a "Sesame Street Online" or "Barney and Friends" online...people would still register on the forums to demand PvP in those games as well.
When I see threads like this I sometimes feel a basic understanding of programming and game development should be required to even be allowed to read the patch notes.

How about we teach CRAPTIC some lessons in quality control? seriously I'd love to see ignored bug reports on many areas, that don't even get listed in the known bugs sections.

Well Cryptic's QA was never a strong point of theirs, so they'll need to keep working on that.
I don't know what they were doing before DR (except working on DR), but the wrong decisions they've made and the player's anger that followed them obviosuly pulled up some red flags.
However, now they're finally staring to communicate with the playerbase more, especially the past couple of days. They're implemented many fixes about things that angered us. The EP even issued a public apology and they've admitted to be wrong and took fault for at least 3 to 4 issues in the past week alone, which with the exception of the S7 STF dilithium incindent, is the first time in 3+ years I hear Cryptic to publically admit being wrong, taking fault and apologizing to the playerbase.
I do hope this has been a big learning experience for them and that they'll change the manner in which they deal with things in the future in order to really listen and cooperate with the playerbase more. I'm willing to give them a chance not only because I like and care about STO, but because they're only human and made some serious mistakes and if they're willing to change and improve I'll remain cautiously optimistic after the recent developments and today's patch notes.

Step 1: Make another way to obtain MK XIV gear, hell make a T6 starbase upgrade an option.
Step 2: Reduce the amount needed for a cap spec point.. 50k? really guys?
Step 3: Focus a release where it is nothing but bug fixes, no real new content, just bug fixes.
Those three steps would bring back the "fun"for the game.

Fixed that for ya. You seem as happy as me. Once PvP is totally out of this game, PvE will no longer be broken to give the PvP whiners and nerfers what they want. We don't care if you can't PvP. PvP is the death of actual balance in this game. Nothing that is broken ever came out of PvE.
Thas' right~kill all PvP for the win~~~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fleet Arkif skin fix promised in March, it is now November
T15 Crafting Eng trait from 2 months ago
PvP from so long ago i cant remember.
"Acknowledged" obviously just means they know about it, doesnt mean they care.
The main thing you seem to forget is that the devs are not a collective pool who can do any job. To put it simply...
Tacofangs does not build STFs and Borticus does not paint flowers.
P.S..... *points to sig* just thought you might be interested, or you can try "T5U PvP".
