No more single player ONLY missions:

I'M NORMALLY NOT A SHOUTING SORT, BUT RIGHT NOW IM PISSED RIGHT OFF.

I come here to play with all my in game friends, only, I don't get to mostly because you game designing geebs keep making single player only mission!!!!!!!!! RELEASE A DESKTOP GAME IF YOU WANT TO PRODUCE SINGLE PLAYER CONTENT!

I'm just sick of this. I can't play with my friends here. I can talk to them, which is great, but I just can't play with them. Unless we rerun the old content over and over (which has the decency to be multi player friendly).

What's WRONG with you game developers, can't you WRITE multi player games? Evidence suggests you can't.

Hell, even a mission which just had us all on the same map would be progression back to something worth while.

*shakes head sadly*.

I feel your pain. For a couple years now I've wondered how this can be called an MMO, but I guess in their twisted POV their social zone qualify's the game as a Massively Multiplayer Online game.

PvP is as close as your gonna get to multiplayer, but they're trying hard to kill that too.

Alright, seriously now, I get that you don't like single-player missions in MMOs, but this is not the way to go about expressing those sentiments.

Say something like "Please make the next FE a multiplayer mission, Cryptic", and then lay out the advantages of such a mission over a single-player mission.

You and your friends could, you know, level up to 50/60 and team up to do STFs - that's the STO equivalent of "raids" from WoW.

All the MMOs I have played all have a single player element to them along with group content. STO does this quite well in my opinion.

Man, can you imagine a mission that was sooo hard that only a group could complete it? Man, the players would be ******** about that for days.

Who says it has to be hard? A few weeks back two of my fleeties and I went into "Under the Cover of Night" (one of them was leveling a Fed) and had a merry time just careening along pwning EVERYTHING.

I agree with the OP. More coop-friendly storyline missions, plz.

I support single player missions. Frankly, I wouldn't play otherwise.

I also support single player missions. Despite this being an MMO, I don't play with other people often. I play the game because I can fly around and beam down to planets and do cool stuff, not because its an MMO.

That being said, I'm not that much of a fan of exclusively single player missions. When I do play with other people, it's usually a PUG (because I HAVE to play with people to do that content) or my sister, When I play with my sister, we do the story missions, and it's disruptive to have solo missions.

I joined this game in closed beta and it was a joy to play, back then I was single-player happy myself, but all the missions where tailored for one to five players and this was perfect. I could play by myself, like then I liked.

Following a moment of inspiration I found some like minded people to form a fleet and the game became epic fun replaying any and all of the missions in teams. There was, back then, only 2 missions which didn't support mutli-player and they where minor pain points, but gladly the missions where short and not a lot of fun anyway, so we just muddled through.

It was frustrating when new fleet members joined and most old hands where playing in the Gamma Oranis (where new players could not venture) which was a mild annoyance also, but at least we could choose to level match and down level to play with them till they caught up.

Now though, theres whole sets of missions, that just simply cannot be teamed >.<.

The game loses enjoyablity after 3 years and what keeps it fun is playing with great friends. Which is being taken away by current developments, possibly leading to me retiring from this here community.

Yes, this is my point. A mission being single playerable is good as long as its also a Multi Player mission :).

So how long would STO last if it was multiplayer missions only (no PUGs), and each mission had a requirement where every player must be at a certain level and had to have certain gear equipped or had to be using certain ships to even join the mission?

After waiting literally for a group in some MMOs for days (I'm looking at YOU, Everquest and that eleventy billion popular fantasy MMO)
*sings* "I like Gammera! He's so neat!!! He is full of turtle meat!!!"

"Hah! You are doomed! You're only armed with that pathetic excuse for a musical instrument!!!" *the Savage Beast moments before Lonnehart the Bard used music to soothe him... then beat him to death with his Fat Lute*

I support being able to play the game solo. Because I do that exclusively. I don't support single player only missions. A team or a single player should be able to do all missions together or alone as they prefer.

Conversely, I also utterly loathe going into a patrol mission quickie to find I have been forcibly teamed with what is invariably an utter moron with a wildly differing level range, to do a mission which is literally the same as all the other patrol missions.
