Is casual rp accepted in the community?

I m not looking for serious rp and I never rp in tells. I will at times use walk instead of run and may use emotes here and there (ie salute etc). Nothing serious and nothing hardcore.

It this frowned upon by the community?

    No, of course not. Of cpurse there are some creeps who hate that you might have fun your own way.

    Never seen a problem with it and "RP Lite" tends to be as far as I've gone personally - you know, "in character/in species" in-jokes, in-context, etc.

    Basic rules seem to be, RP conversation should be in Local chat rather than Zone, should be "family friendly" (really, if it's going to get, shall we say "heavy"... get a Bridge to do that privately because nobody wants to be confronted with that on the DS9 promenade... the guilty shall not be named), and usually it tends to be in specific places especially DS9, Drozana Station, and Bajor (sometimes). Very busy places like Earth Spacedock and adenture zones like New Romulus it tends to be a bit of a no-no (except maybe the occasional in-character one-liner of a joke).

    Go for it. Play the way you want to, so long as you aren't getting in someones way or holding up your team. Don't ever let other players dictate what you can and can't do. Although, I'd keep the salutes to a minimum. There are few who actually deserve it.

    I personally use the walk instead of run if I'm in no hurry ( looks far less silly than jogging everywhere to me)

    Emotes can be fun, Chances are if you come up to me and use one I might respond in kind

    I usually salute anyone I see that has spent time and made a canon uniform with the correct colours and rank insignia/department. They sometimes salute back as well :D
