My Judgement of Delta Rising

I thought I would try to give Delta Rising a fair review, and point out the problems and offer solutions.

I know Cryptic will not listen, this is just a mental exercise to pass the time, since I'm too tired to play FPS games right now.


The Good :

- New level cap.
- New ships.
- New options like Romulan long hair.
- Costume fixes.
- New areas.
- New story missions that are good.
- Nice work from the art team! Good job Taco! :D
- Nice voicework, but I expect the Voy actors got well paid for it.
- Ability to upgrade our old gear.
- Specialisations.
- Starships traits.
- New ultra hard difficulty.
- New rep.

The Bad :

- XP nerfing.
- Dilithium reward nerf.
- Increasing difficulty on Normal and Old Elite/Advanced.
- Reworking old elite STFs to be harder at half reward! What were they thinking?!?!?! :mad:
- Upgrade and crafting system costing way too much dilithium.
- Too heavy grinding.
- Old Stfs do not have an Elite version. They have a too hard Advanced.
- Lots of bugs. And I dont mean the Trollflies in Bughun!
- Bad communication and PR Issues. Come on be professional.
- Punishing players, especially those that did not exploit.
- Not enough story missions to level from 50 to 60.
- Forum posting nerf...lol?
- Intelligence kits tied to Specialisation AND reputation.

The Suggestions :

-Boost XP gain to be on par with difficulty gain. Enemies having 5X health? They should give 5X xp.
- Roll back the Dilithium nerf! Normals give 480 dil, Advanced gives 960, Elite gives 1440.
- Roll back the Advanced STFS and Normals to what they were exactly prior to DR in difficulty.
- Roll back Advanced difficulty to the old Elite one.
- Make Elite ships more challanging! This is supposed to be nightmare content... give them something else than health sponges. Perhaps 1 or 2 randomly choosen abilities from a list of new abilities for each instance? That would throw in some challange for those seeking ELITE content.
- Since you should make the Advanced STFs back into the old Elites, you should make NEW, extra hard, Elite versions for them. Don't go easy on the players here, let them have challange. Make Elite Infected space drop a pair of Vger ships on them.
- Stow that nerfhammer.
- Warn players of changes before putting them in. This is a game you make Cryptic, but you make it for the players who are your customers. You want their money, right?
-Restore forum post time to at least 30 seconds.
- Enough story content to get to level 60 with. These missions need not have Voy crew voice acting, I know PWE does not have unlimited funding. Just something other than patrols.
- A lot of people were unhappy about the T5 Upgrade. I would consider giving them a Full T6 Upgrade.... for the same price as a full T6 ship. That way Cryptic gets profit, players get to play with their favourtie X ship.

Making your playerbase mad and angry is not good for business. I want to see those PVE ques with hundreds of players in them!

So what do I think? It has a lot of potential, but was terribly mismanaged. Very bad right now, but easily fixed!
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.
