Finally the game is a challenge...even if all they did was add zeros to the hp amount
New weird gear and upgrade system that allows for some new builds I never considered.
New ships are inline with the power of T5-u. AKA I don't feel out classed at all by them, and easily beat them on the charts
New missions and story line are great...even if they arn't exactly cohesive episodes, They're Lovly never the less because most of them retouch on past episodes of Voyager or spoiler even TNG that had plot points kinda left open ended.
Love the new dilithium dump upgrading system
New specialization Tree is awesome and in tandem with increased difficulty actually pushes people to be better players... and thats what I've always wanted for star trek.
Elite difficulty is actually tough... (which mind you, if you want to level up at a rate that actually allows you to do the missions in order... you have to play on elite. its not that hard if you consider your builds and set up of your ground team)
New difficulty puts pressure on people who use a billion alts and have no quality characters... This game wasn't meant to be played like farmvill, and I think the slouched difficulty before allowed it. Now you gotta specialize, spend months on your character to get it good enough for the end game content. And yes, I think every ship can do it.... I got 3 weps in front, 3 aft, no fighters, and all set equipment and I pull 19k dps on average 10 k if I roll my face on the keyboard, and 25k+ if I fly right, time my abilities and am spot on.
Con's:
Bug's Galor.... From current bugs to past bugs... its crazy how far they are allowing the quality to fall. There's even bugs that delete your gear and doffs at this point ( not just cool down , mission progression, load out, Losing stats on your gear, and missing legs and arms when you customize your officers, crazy 1 hit invisible torpedoes, etc)
Customer support... If said deletion happens to you.... they say... give a bug report and tough luck. you do not get your stuff back. Not to mention the impersonalized copy paste job that doesn't answer 95% of what your talking to them about.
Attitude: In general the regard to players/payers is complete disrespect. The company is general (not even specific to Startrek) practices very shady business ethics ranging from bait and switch tactics to straight up lying about the content of packages, pricing, exclusivity of offers, and price gouging.
Distance of the Devs and community mods : Is it just me or are the only ones that actually play or care about this game are the artists? Ever watched a twitch feed and are like omg this guy is bragging but seriously they have zero clue how to fly their ship ( this even extends acrossed their games... the devs are so bad at playing the game they are designing it leads me to understand where alot of the quality goes .... they're to busy watching youtube videos and joking around at work they really havn't played the content they are designing) Even the community mods have no clue about the game IE CaptainSmirk when flying the new t6 ship he was showing off was refering to the solane dyson set as "NEW" Delta rising equipment despite the fact it came out on holodeck nearly a "YEAR" before... which should tell you all something
2d space, 3d targets.... If you've played the undine maps you know what im talking about. If your gonna limit me to flying in a awkward semi 2d way, my world and maps should reflect that. Making "holes" to shoot down and crazy up and down maps that have me cork TRIBBLE 90 times to get to my destination is just stupid. If im limited to 2d movement, the world your designing should reflect that x.x Kinda connected to what was stated in the previous comment
Here's my big one... The new Doff interface is so uncomfortable and wierd I've pretty much stopped doffing all together at this point.
