How do you earn lobi crystals?

    By opening lockboxes.

    Every once in a while they will do a free lobi giveaway like they just did, but if you want them on a regular basis then you have to open lockboxes. There is no other way.

    You can buy lock box keys and get a variable amount from each box.

    Alternatively, pretty infrequent special events are held that give away free lobi. I think there may have been some free giveaways when you're doing the first round of story missions for the first time, but not sure if that's still the case.

    There are four ways.

    1. Lobi are ALWAYS acquired from opening Lockboxes, each box will give you 4 to 10 Lobi randomly. They're technically supposed to be the 'honorable mention' prize so that even if you open a dozen boxes and get nothing but Duty Officer Mini-Packs, well, you've still got enough Lobi to buy a gun or non-combat pet from the Lobi Store.

    2. Featured Episode Reruns offer a set amount of Lobi per day per account (not per character) for completing a mission from one of the four Featured Episode Series. These missions include the five missions from the "Spectres" arc, the first five missions (not the 'epilogue' where you just talk to Obisek in sector space) of the Romulan Mystery arc, the five missions of the "4800"/Jem'hadar arc and the five missions of the "Cold War"/Breen arc.

    (At one time, each mission gave a single Lobi that you had to find during the FE Reruns, but when Lobi became Account-Bound, it was changed to the current set-up of... I think it's something like 15 Lobi per day per account for completing any of the above Featured Episode missions.)

    3. Occasionally - just this past weekend, in fact - there will be a special Lobi give-away where the first character you log in on each day during the giveaway will get a mission to talk to the Ferengi Grym on ESD or First City to recieve 20 Lobi per day per account.

    4. During certain special events, things like the Fleet Support Duty Officer pack or Romulan Survivor DOff Pack from the Cryptic Store will give you either a special ship (Voth Bulwark Dreadnought Cruiser or Jem'hadar Attack Ship) or 10 Lobi in addition to the normal prizes.

    To expand on what was said before, the feature episode or plays happen twice a year. There is usually one in late November or early January.

    Somewhere I posted the dates of all of them in response to someone who claimed they weren't twice a year, but my searchfu is weak.
