I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this but I wanted to do it while its fresh in my mind.
Just played through this Delta Quadrant mission for the first time and quite enjoyed it, but 1 thing really annoyed me, would it not have been simpler to have tuvok beam down with me rather than hail me from the ship every 5 seconds?
Surely the scattering field that prevented the transporters from working should of also prevented communications?

Not neccessarily. Beaming is a more complicated process than regular subspace communication.
It seems he was relying on sensor information from the ship to guide you, so that may have been the reason to keep in contact. Of course, anyone could have done that, it's not like you were there with a 2 man shuttle. (unless you were?)

I would agree with this.
After all, a comm signal would be much easier (from a real world perspective, even) to break through than a comm signal containing such vast information as the nearly 400Tb of data required to reconstruct a living humanoid.
SO, why not just beam us both down while they have the chance instead of trying to re-establish communications every 1-5 minutes?
"Join Date: Jun 2012" Says Cryptic's "new" forum system. I've been here since a week before launch, but SOME stuff just didn't carry over through multiple system changes/updates.
