Sci BoP In Progress

A little project I'm working on as something different, a sort of Klingon Science Ship yet not, for use in the DR stuff and Advanced queues. Curious as to others' inputs since I like it but something feels off too.

http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/?build=blakmeij_5101

Its still very much an in-progress build though; still have to get to 60 and get my crafting up for the particle trait and get the fancy particle generator, plus find a fleet to get the 6th space doff slot from. Weapons I'm locked into to polarons as I already have the fleet tac consoles, but I haven't decided yet if I want to use standard polaron weaponry for the drain or the new Delta Rep ones for the placate and radiation damage.

Thoughts?

Wow nothing? I'd have thought some shop talk would be a nice change from the usual.

    I like this.

I actually had a very similar idea a while ago and I created a build for a ship that only exists in stories so far, but would theoretically be very nasty. IKS MuH QeDmo' (Death by Science)

I like what you've done, focusing on PG and CC. You might want to look into the fluidic counter set for some more PG nastiness (and maybe the best warp core / engine combo in the game for a raider) But the Solanae set seems like an equally good choice with the deflector's boost to PG and the overcharcharged W->A warp core.

Personally, I'd ditch the proton weapon, or move it to a tailgun and get another Polaron DHC up there for more punch. Also maybe swap one GW1 for a TR2 to get more out of your cooldowns.

Also, your skill tree - I see you have no points in energy weapons specialization. Subspace decompiler and countermeasures aren't going to help this ship, so I'd exchange skill points there.

I love sci BOP's in pvp, don't use mine much in pve though. I like the B'rel myself to use sci abilties and torps from cloak, the norgh is also a good option though if its going to be primarily decloaking and doing pve. Looks good for grinding with as you can bunch up the enemies with grav wells and kill with spreads and scatter volley.

Dyson 3 piece set is good, but that new delta rep torp is also OP, it may be worth trying that set or just the torp.

I'd only use one Sci Station, and get GW 1 and 3. Use one LtCmdr for tac and use TT, TS2 and TS3.
I'd use the rest of the Boffs to run an Engineering DCE/Aux2ID/TT Doff Scheme. IF I was really gonna do that.

Right now I just use Commander Tac with TS1 and TS3 and CSV1 and CSV3. One LtCmdr Sci so I only get the one GW, and again the last to go to Engineering for the Doff Scheme.

I had considered the Counter-Command deflector/engine plus a Fleet Adaptive shied at first, but then doing the math I realized "I want a Resilient shield, hyper engines, and a deflector with partigens. Solanae does all of those, and gives me a hull heal, and is free." Though that Counter-Command setup with the extra Defense, its still VERY tempting. (Though cost an extra hundred thousand dil, so that tempers things).

As far as the proton cannon.....people are gonna laugh at this but I just can't run 3 DHCs 2 turrets. I'm way too OCD, and the firing animation will drive me up a wall. It has to be 2 DCs or DHCs, 2 turrets, a torp, and then something else. Hence the proton cannon; finishes the set to buff the grav torp and CrtD, low drain, nothing has proton resistances, and works with my CSV. Though that said, I could run the Delta Rep DHC, 2 thoron DC (yes I know DCs are inferior but with the Ning'tao skin and split wings, they look really cool), then 2 thoron turrets and the Delta Rep torp. Plus that would give me the Isokinetic Cannon, but I'd lose 3% off my CrtH and the rift effect of the gravimetric torps. Hmm decisions decisions, and the price of being crazy.

Speaking of that Delta Rep torp I've heard some mumblings about how powerful it is, but haven't gone to Tribble to test it. Whats the deal exactly and how does it interact with torp spread?

One other change I also considered was to drop the Tractor Beam and drop the Sci Team to 1, then pick up TBR1 instead. Better crowd control and better damage, but less utility. And I know there's the 'vacuum doff' for TBR that would really jack up the partigen damage, but I figured KDF side it'd be one of those still-expensive 30-million ones, and wasn't sure how long a BoP would survive pulling enemies in close. Anyone tried that vacuum setup with a mere TBR1? Badass or bad idea?
