I've actually been messing around with the temporal destroyer, which is similar to the corvette in maneuverability. what I ahve been messing with is the standard Klingon Battle cruiser layout, a torpedo, dual cannon, and beam arrays (your choice of single or dual bank or one of each, and then aft, torpedo, and two beam arrays (or KCB and 360 beam array)
even if you don't slot any cannon abilities, it SEEMS to be a nice boost to forward DPS, and chews shields better. I've personally been using the quad cannons from Sao Paulo. I have not done anything to get any DPS parses but it's an intriguing build
Wouldnt this be better off in the Fleetyard Forum?
Absolutely.
I rarely use the forums, and as I am playing the game at the moment I didn't look too deeply into the options available to me.
This is, in fact, the first time I have ever asked for build help, as I have never actually cared that much.
But suddenly I find myself with a desire to optimize as the game's difficulty and reward vs. effort ratio have changed.
Sorry, I dropped this in the wrong place.
I hope Askray or someone moves it to the proper place.
Absolutely.

Not a big deal. Not like Ima go crying to the Mods. But the people that regularly haunt the Fleetyard will actually be willing to tackle your questions. Rather then see it buried here by the numerous Tau Dewa Nerf related threads.
I'm just wondering if anyone out there can point me in a direction of some builds for Risian Corvettes.
or offer some of their own advice here.
It's the T5U Version.
Just one of my favorite ships, and I'd love to look at how people have built them and theorized on them.
Thanks in advance.

my opinion give up on guns and go for exotic dmg (TBR / EWP / GW) as they bypass shields. I can burn a 1M hp ship in about 1:30 and hit multiple ships at the same time.
Power set 100/35/50/15, doffs 3 Technicians and a Warp Core
Power levels fluctuate because of the Enhanced Plasma Manifold trait, the Leech, and the single A2B, but in general it runs along at a speed of 60+ with a turn rate of ~65 without using EPTE, so it can simply glue itself to most target's tails and stay there blasting away. With the EPTS3 its stupidly durable. I went single-target on the weapons because as a dogfighter (and with how many HP the new enemies have), it seemed more efficient to just focus-fire and take them out one at a time, and the BO3 plus high-yield Omega torp can get some good hits in even though I'm an engie captain using old weapons. Full Solanae set because the shield is good on its own (Resilient Cap*2 ResAll), the engines are Hyper and give a speed boost on proc, and so may as well use the deflector to finish off the set for the hull-heal bonus (and the extra partigens and hull HP don't hurt). And the full Risian set gives it a smidge of crowd control and because hey why not? It won't win any DPS contests as it lacks any AOE stuff, but its entertaining.

I'm enjoying mine as a high engine power torpedo boat.
Caps out defense at just over 100% at only 1/2 throttle.
