Ship naming limitations

Is there any way to increase the limit from 15 characters? Most of my warbirds have the double letters on their names, and it really adds up when I'm trying to slap some poetic jargon on it.

HOWEVER, I did notice something odd when PWE bought the game. Before ALL canon names were blocked from use. After the acquisition I was able to name characters Zek, Gul Dukat and Legate Damar. Not ship names, but interesting.

Then again, I reclaim all my legacy items every time they add to the C-Store. I literally have 5 Sehlats, 3 Borg ENG (two of witch I can't do ANYTHING with), 5 yellow Hortas, and so on. That's how PWE rolls.

It is certainly a disadvantage for players who would like to use Rihan names for our ships, to be sure (although I manage), but even Feds have the restrictions so as to make a ship named "U.S.S. Franklin Delano Roosevelt" impossible. That flies in the face of ship naming conventions, as seen here:

Clearly, these are names which have been or could be used in canon, so what gives with the character limitation on the ship names? It's time this was changed. I certainly agree there are more pressing concerns, and I would much rather see Romulan ships able to display wall and floor trophies, to have fleet emblems on their hulls, to have some interior variations available in the C-store, and a host of other things, to say nothing of fixing the automatic doors in the First City and other Klingon locations, giving a full color spectrum for all uniform pieces for all three factions, the insane CPU lag from some of the zones in the Delta Quadrant fixed, the ability to get stuck in or under the floor of the sector block in Vyntadi fixed, and assorted other things, but this ship naming issue also needs to be rethought eventually (and sooner rather than later, but certainly after more critical issues are dealt with -- and yes, the more critical issues include more attention given to Romulan and KDF issues, and not an overwhelming focus on the FedBrats).
