Customize Mod Slots needed for Weapons & Grear

If i've heard correctly from one of the Dev's (most likely Geko) months ago in a podcast that they said they might add customize mods for weapons and gear... weather they still planning for this in the near future or already dropped it, i will make this thread either ways (especially if they dropped it) because i felt that wasting time and resources on the Exchange just to get DHC's with x3-4 [Acc] mods for tens of millions of EC and crafting Mk XIV gear for random extra mods (especially if it is the one they don't want) is just plain idiotic... I believe players should have the right to install what type of specialize mods they want for their Weapons & Gears without worrying about gambling or spending too much EC on the exchange just to get what they feel like they need to make their toons better. other MMO's have their own specialize slots in their weapons and gears why can't STO?

    We've been promised Secondary deflectors for the science ships ever since Dyson went live and we're still waiting. So I wouldn't hold my breath for getting customizable mods. And given how buggy the Upgrade system still is, would you be willing to risk your hard ground for gear? I certainly wouldn't! Oh and lets not forget the cost that's probably going to be involved, given the extortionate prices of the current upgrade system, the costs for customizing modifiers will be astronomical. You'd probably need to mortgage to finance just one ship.
    Oh, it's not broken? We can soon fix that!

    I take it you mean applying ship/console - and now kit/module - logic to them? It's a sound idea; one I and others have advocated for a while (such as in this thread). You might be interested to note that the Section 8 games actually do this with their power armor...
