I frankly doubt anyone will get anything replaced or credited. Why? Because the few that are posting about their so called points, by no means total 30 or 50 or 70 percent of the players that are online. I'm guessing less than 1 percent to them it means damage losses and frankly there is spit anyone can do.
I've moved on gained 6 of my 10 points back. The game is what it is, but I refuse to sulk over an error on their part.

So, you regained 278,208 skillpoints back, in a single day, at the 70% reduced rate?! (which would be 927,360 -- nearly 1 million! -- XP under the pre-nerf paradigm). I call exploiter!!
Honestly the PR team at cryptic must have been hired off the street. They certainly never studied in their field. Owning problems and taking responsibility for them is an exceptionally powerful PR tool.
Want to soothe the community's anger?
It's not going to happen.
Regardless of skill points, dilithium and other goodies being rewarded (or restored), the STO community is going to remain a very vocal lot.
What needs to happen?
A major overhaul in the way Cryptic/PWE conducts itself within its own forums.
That means massive changes to the community site, including business process changes. For example, when calling for Tribble beta/QA testing with the player community, create a specific process to submit feedback. Within the feedback thread, moderators should delete ANY posts which do not follow the provided format; a separate thread should exist for comments about the feedback; and in both cases, Devs and Community Managers alike should be active and engaged with the feedback.
This will not stop players/customers from venting or raging. However, it will set a new, better standard for communications: Here is Cryptic's ask; here's how players provide feedback; here is Cryptic's feedback.
No more asks from Cryptic... which also go largely ignored by Cryptic. (DOff UI anyone? Crafting UI? DR beta testing?)
Furthermore, NO MORE community manager asks, like promoting fleets, when there's virtually no follow-up on these requests!
Cryptic needs to take a serious look at revamping/realigning their interactions with the community.
THAT is a starting point to quelling the rage/anger.
Cryptic/PWE: Keep in mind, you have a very confusing communications strategy. Between reddit, Facebook, Twitter, Livestream and these forums, most people have NO CLUE where they're going to get listened to, or listen to you.

I'm with you on this, brother. I have plenty of refined dilithium for my needs. I only lost 8 specialization points...but I WORKED for them.

Captain's Picard, Kirk, Sisko, Janeway and Archer could, why cant Captain Geko?
