In a moment of weakness I ALMOST purchased the DR bundle. It was a couple of days after the expansion launched, so obviously I wasn't following the expansion closely...but I thought the LoR bundle was great and so was the expansion.

However I first decided to check out the forums and see what people thought...

Well you can imagine how well that went...

So instead of the bundle, between my LS stipend and selling some dilithium (I will never do the grinds that require it) I was able to pickup my Int cruiser and int uniform.

I thought I would at least do the storyline from DR, the devs are even making that suck with forced level grinding and nerfs. (no, I did not do any Tau Dewa grinding). I'm not even sure I'll bother with the storyline now.

I used to brag about this MMO being the most solo and casual friendly MMO I had ever seen. I actually enjoyed spending money on it, because the C-Store had things I WANTED to buy. I won't go into specifics, I'm sure everyone knows the details of why this is no longer the case.

It just amazes me how easily they tossed their casual audience aside to become just another MMO to cater to the basement dwellers and pretty much reaching for our wallets at gunpoint.

This isn't as much an "I quit" thread as one of extreme disappointment. I'll of course keep an eye on the game in the future to see if the devs return from the mouth of madness, or if they have been completely assimilated into the PWI collective.

as I said in another thread I quote "as a returning player I am glad I came to read the forums first. I was about to put down 40 bucks for c-store stuff and play the new content but decided to wait it out a little bit. my wallet is thanking me right now" funny to see someone else did the same.

You guys are certainly welcome. Now if you wouldn't mind making a small donation to the "save our forums" fund, my paypal account is....

hehe. think the only people that can save these forums is the people that is counting everyone's money that didn't wait. sad but true. I know you meant it as a joke or your really hoping that the dev's would silent the forums over their mistakes, but I did enjoy replying to this.

It really is sad, but the fact is pretty obvious that Legacy of Romulus and the Sphere of Influence events were good, but this whole Delta Rising has been dreadful. It makes me wonder what sort of things are going on in the staff offices to force out such a disaster like this. If this Expansion were a dog I'd have the poor thing put down to end it's suffering.

your loss, the DR bundle is awesome and great value for money, i would recommend it to anyone.
the 9 ships within make this good value when compared to single ship prices but with the added value of the uniform and reclaimable boff & doff packs for every character you have the value is amazing.
if you have a character from every faction and you were to buy one T6 ship for each that would very nearly cover the price of the full pack before you even look at all the extra stuff you get.
if you want to listen to the wingers who can’t wait to get all the best gear without coughing up cash that’s up to you, i am quite content to upgrade stuff as and when i feel like it and have saved enough dilithium from normal gameplay to cover the cost, i quite happy to play as normal even if it takes me a year or more to accomplish my goal.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,

and if that journey takes a little longer,

so we can do something we all believe in,

I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

They have revamped all the missions to 900 XP Points and Experience is like 1.4K. Not only DR. I am watching shows I've stocked pile for now until they make some changes. I use to be playing as I type this but nope. I'll play but not like I use too. Level 55 pretty high already and 60 max out level. But this patch changes things in reverse.

Anyway I see everyone showing up with Cats now. So now I have black cat (random what you get when you open the box for the cat) She was running behind down that adventure zone a few hours ago. I've notice that the adventure zone planet is pretty much dead and the enemy is much tougher now to take down. Sonic Wave Mark 13 would take them down but now they go down and stand right back-up. Ouch!

For the 9 ships + extra's it's good value compared to the overpriced singular ships. Even if all ships were dropped to reasonable zen costs it's still good value in that respect.

The bad aspect is the game is now not worth playing. The time involved for the reward is just exponentially wrong.

That and some dipstick put the wrong modifier into the patch to "fix" the XP and reduced Elite level XP by ~70% instead of it's ~12% increase that it should have had according to the patch notes...

I did the entire Kobali zone with Mk 12 Pulsewaves from the Rep system. No troubles, not even a single Intel Officer needed. Though admittedly using the Shotguns, I mean Pulsewaves mean that there is a continual knock down applied when there's 4 of them, plus that chaingun beam thing. The only hard parts were broken instances like the initial bridge mission and the final boss mission which broke in about 50-60% of instances I played.

"You don't have to do something again and again and again repetitive that doesn't have much challange, that's just a general good gameplay thing."

thats where i disagree, i like the time i spend playing any reward you get for enjoying that time is just a bonus, if the reward is high that if fine but if the devs feel the reward should be lower i have no problem with that, it just means i can enjoy playing for longer to get where i want to go.

Yes, telling people to leave an MMO is always the smart choice...it amazes me people say it.

    1) People leave, game becomes unprofitable, development dollars dry up.

    2) People leave, game becomes unprofitable, overlords demand profit...prepare to have you wallet raided even more than now.

So by all means, continue to say stupid things like "just leave".

think the most reasons people come on here is not cause they want uninstall but tell the dev's to wake up cause they are disappointed and they need to fix their mistakes. the game isn't that bad just that they are making to many mistakes.

if players are compairing cryptic to an abusive husband i would say that is beyond what you suggest.

In no way, shape, or form is our video game becoming 'challenging', and someone actually enjoying the game regardless of someone else's personal issues anywhere near the same thing as a husband battering his wife.

The analogy doesn't work, and its use just displays a serious lack of respect so that someone can toss hyperbole out in an effort to make themselves look 'cool'? Lame.

And if someone really -does- feel like Cryptic is an 'abusive husband'? They really might wanna seek professional help. Soon.

The game you knew and played is still there. Go play it. Ignore the DR stuff if it's just too much for you to handle. Or better yet, find something else to do entirely. People getting over-emotional about a video game is disturbing enough the way it is - accusing someone of 'battered wife syndrome' just because they truly do enjoy the game is ludicrous, immature, and unworthy of anyone with a double-digit or better IQ.

Just like every MMO I've played, there is always that very vocal minority who love to whine and cry on the forums - just for the sake of it. If someone has legitimate issues - that's cool, I get it. But rippin' on someone else who is still -having fun-, and accusing them of suffering some mental trauma that allows them to have that fun? Seriously lame.

Leave. Go. I frankly don't care. I have zero financial interest in Cryptic. The company is not our 'friend', nor are they out to provide us anything other than a product for entertainment purposes. And if Cryptic 'fails' or STO shuts it's door because the forum-haters abandon the game... there are -so- many other choices out there to play, 99.999% of the current player base will simply find a replacement - and life will go on.

    Does the product entertain you?

    If yes = Yay! Enjoy!

If no = prove it with your wallet, not your mouth. The crying 1% here does not represent anything else other than just that. It's been that way in MMO forums since they were born. People love to claim they 'represent' a larger number of players, when frankly, they have no frickin' clue.

It just gets old. I read and lurk and read and lurk, trying to -learn- things about the game, but the crying, the hyperbole, is just over the top lately. Some people truly act like their world WILL END if Cryptic doesn't do (insert name of fix/change/adjustment here). And to toss silly analogies out there in an effort to 'sound cool' is just... pathetic, really, especially when they bag on people who -do- still enjoy the game. I do. So I guess that means I have 'battered wife' syndrome, as well?

    Sigh.

It's not about being 'PC'. It's about folks calming down and using the brain-matter sittin' between their ears. Speak a language Crytpic understands: the language of the wallet. Getting together in a few threads on a forum with pitchforks and torches most likely won't make a lick of difference. Except, I guess it makes some folks feel good to vent, I suppose.

Bottom line to OP....you bought a ship, enjoy the storyline if you can. You'll have to stop enjoying it to get a level or 2 finished toward the end but the story itself I found pretty enjoyable. Even those patrol missions people got in a tizzy about.

After that...there is nothing but pain and suffering for you to look forward to. At least as the game is presently constituted.

    My two cents.

so let me get this strait, the new forum rule is i cannot post a positive comment or disagree with negative comments without finding an alternative thread that has a positive view on the same subject.

right, it sure helps a lot to know the forum rules & regulations.

When I think about everything we've been through together,

you have the right to post in what ever thread you want in but people tend to think that this would not have negative reaction from other posters then complain when people vent. this doesn't help the game your defending. why try to push people's buttons when you could be playing the game you love so much  I think people like to argue and they make it their mission to keep it up.

i always thought the forum was here for open & honest discussion with people with opposing views, otherwise there is no discussion at all just endless rant.
and yet it is amazing when posters start a thread with a positive slant that loads of posters chime in with opposing views.
