I just got a chance to log into STO recently, for the first time since Delta Rising went live. I had purchased the Ops pack, and went ahead and claimed the purple Intel officers on a couple of characters. I've been doing several ground/away team missions, and the Dyson ground area, and I've noticed something odd about the Science Intel officer.
Once combat starts, she starts rapidly cycling back and forth - I'd call it pacing, except she bounces back and forth a couple of times per second. So far, the Romulan Faction version is the only one I've taken on an away team mission (female Liberated Borg.) I *think* it's a side effect from one of the Intel powers she starts with, but I'm not sure which one or even how to narrow it down. I do know that in an away team with three other "normal" officers (including the Liberated Borg engineer) none of them have the same rapid movement cycle. And for the Science Intel officer, it doesn't start until after she's been in combat.
So... I guess I'm just curious. Is anyone else seeing this behavior, or have any idea what's causing it? It's actually kind of annoying, especially if she's decided to do it at a point where she's running in and out of my field of view.
I do plan to try some missions later with all three Romulan faction Intel officers present, and on Federation and Starfleet characters to see if it's all the Science Intel officer with default powers, or all Intel Officers, or just the Romulan version.

Mine behaves exactly the same as you've described on ground maps. It's probably an AI bug they may or may not get around to fixing.

My dillithium brought tac intel boff is doing the same, he constantly jumps back an forth he just wont stay still, looks odd when my captain an other boffs are standing there looking all awesome and.... jumpy in the back letting us down.
Its probably a flaw in how the BOffs deal with skill triggering conditions.
They keep trying to do "something" and keep being interrupted.
For example, Tachyon Harmonic and Neural Neutralizer for Sci BOffs can induce pathing problems similar to the issue you describe.
Which Intel Ground Powers are set to the BOffs displaying these symptoms?
As several players are encountering this problem, it would help determine whether it is due to a single skill, several skills, or a combination of several, causing it.
I'm guessing it's withdrawal symptoms, that Intel bloke you get as a reward, first time i took him to ground, he instantly injected himself with a hypo, and this was just New Romulus. Intel officers are Junkies, I had to take his other hypos away from him.
Can't do that, my personal Sontaran BOFF use a disco drone. That's almost a dream comes true.
And BTW, he is called Strax.
I didn't mention the odd behavior. Maybe it was here and I didn't see it, or maybe not. But then, I have the free Sontaran, and not the DR pack boff.
P.S. I know it's not a Sontaran, thank you.
Sontarans are far cooler than Hierarchy especially Strax. If you want to RP that it is a Sontaran that was sucked through some dimensional vortex, then go for it.

My character Tsin'xing
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.
And BTW, he is called Strax.

Veril, my Reman non-intel Boff was doing the same thing, so it doesn't seem to be explicitly Intel related...
