Want to create an uber ground BZ farming Fed toon-suggestions?

stonewbiestonewbie Member Posts: 1,454 Arc User
Hey everybody,

I was thinking about creating a new character, that will either be Fed or Rom-Fed. And this character will be 100% ground. It can be any class doesnt matter, but it has to be OP because i pretty much just want to rofl stomp the TRIBBLE out of everything.

But a couple of conditions:

-Primary BZs played will be Dyson and Kobali probably some Defari too, no borg ground STF.
-Caitian and Fed Klingons are locked
-Joined Trill and Reman unlocked along with standard species of course
-all rep passives will be available (eventually)
-no Omega gear to be used (if i do any Defari i will suck it up and use refreq from replicator)
-boff team will be made up of mission reward boffs
-exchange boffs can be used
-doffs will be made up of mission rewards or cluster mission rewards
-exchange doffs can be used but nothing more then 100-200k ec

So i'm thinking that one of us will have to be a Sci for the biochemist debuffing. The Sci toon might possibly be a Vulcan. Then a tac for buffing and defenses probably one with Soldier. And the 3rd one is open for whatever. For weapons layout, for my leveling team i've always had my 4 boffs using expose weapons while i use the exploit weapon. Not sure if i should change this around since BZs are usually just 3 man teams. Should i just go all expose and not worry about exploiting? should we all use exploit weapons and expose with our boff abilities?

Let me know what you guys think...getting kinda sleepy right now but i may think of more questions later.

OK so here are some i was able to put together:

    Engineer Alien (me)
Tactical Elisa Flores (Sup Soldier, Sup Teamwork, Sup Peak Health)
Sci choice #1 (Sup Luck, Sup Teamwork)
Sci choice #2 (Acute Senses, Sup Soldier)
Sci choice #3 (Acute Senses, Sup Luck)

Ideally i would want Sci with Sup Luck, Sup Teamwork and Sup Acute Senses and it looks like that would be an alien boff. Until i can find an alien with that combo (which will probably be never) i think i'm going to go with Sup Luck and Sup Teamwork.

For gear i was thinking Elisa gets 3pc Omega and the Sci gets 3pc Dyson. For myself i get 3pc Dyson and an exploit weapon from either CC or Delta. I'm actually open to suggestions on gear loadout for the 3 of us. I know how to put together something passable. But i want to min-max the TRIBBLE out of our 3 gearsets.

Give your BoFFs the Dyson sets for Voth if you have the skrilla. BUt I would consider Engineers with Chroniton Mine, some sort of turret and shield recharge. The deployables often attract aggro and can be a nice delay. If you're soloing a cap point, the Quantum mortars in multiples can help kill off the mega mechs quickly if you fuse armor them.

As far as your personal gear, I would suggest advanced fleet armors and An Elite shield with [Cap]x2[ResB][Adapt] (Whichever one grants the AP resist...I forget). I would also suggest using a Split Beam rifle to take advantage of exposes quicker than other exploit weapons simply due to the lack of warmup.

On some of my 'toons I keep both the ResA and B versions of the shields and just swap as needed.

Ohh thats right, i completely forgot about fleet ground gear. I will be sure to take that into consideration as well. I was just messing around with the stoacademy calculator. Since i always do 300k and 66k for space and ground. This will be the first time i've put 100k into ground and the first time i've actually had to care about what the ground stuff does.

    http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/?build=stonewbieground_0

Is what i'm thinking about speccing into right now. I just filled the ship stuff however, when i actually do it in game i'll fill that out properly. But anyways Threat Control obviously not needed, i didnt think i would need Repairs either so no points there. The only ones i'm unsure of is Generators and Willpower. If Willpower actually is useful and works for what it says it is supposed to do i'll keep it, otherwise i will lower it or take it away all together and cap out one of the other skill trees. I'm still also undecided on what all abilities i will be using so i dont know if i will be using anything that benefits from Generators.

    I was thinking:

    quantum mortar
    fuse armor
    shield recharge
    seeker drone
Either transphasic bomb or chroniton mines or maybe both and drop seeker or shield recharge

I'm guessing that shield generator and medical generator might not even be needed. If so i can drop the points in Generator and put them somewhere else. Turrets have their own skill tree and i'm guessing that Quantum Mortars benefit from Turret skill tree as well.

Klingon - max select all melee dmg traits, then hp and resists and go melee.

your doffs can back you up with weapons and debuffs and heals

I mentioned in my first post that this is only going to be a Fed or Rom Fed. I also mentioned that Caitian and Klingon is locked, but joined Trill is unlocked.

so i wont be doing a Klingon character...However i think Aliens have a 20% melee damage modifier. But i think i want to stay away from melee. Maybe if this toon works out ok i'll do another ground BZ farm toon but an Alien tac toon and do melee.

EDIT: also i was looking for specific help. I'm pretty much trying to min-max a 3man ground team, but it has to stay within the limits i set for myself which i posted in my first post. I wanted advice right down to traits, but that i can do myself with some studying. Weapons and gear however i dont want to waste dil, marks and items to find out that the gear is TRIBBLE.

    Alien Engineer

Seeker Drone, Support Drone, Orbital Strike (With Orbital Devastation Trait), Nanite Medical Generator, and Fleet Shield Generator, and Turret (Fluidic AP or Flamethrower).

    BoFF

Jem'Hadar Tac with Fleet or Dyson Gear

Draw Fire, Target Optics, Photon or Plasma Grenade, and Battle Strategies.

    Nelen Exil

Med Tricorder 1, 2 Nanite Health monitor and another cleanse or debuffs.

If you're gold or LTS the Android can be nice too. Make sure your healer has superior creativity

I looked at the JH Tac boff traits and made a comparison to Elisa Flores and here is what they have:

    Elisa:
Superior Soldier: 7.5% all energy damage, 15% crit severity
Superior Teamwork: 7.5% team exploit damage
    Superior Peak Health

    JH:
Shroud: 20% all damage for 10sec when leaving cloak
    Engineered Soldier: 5% melee/ranged damage, 3% crit, 5% severity
    Superior Stubborn
    Superior Peak Health

I've been trying to find info on whether or not Superior Teamwork stacks and i've heard that it does and doesnt. The only thing the JH has going for him is the Shroud. But it will probably be just my luck that it ends up getting used when i dont want it to be used. I dont know if the 7.5% exploit damage for me from the teamwork buff (or more if it stacks) is worth the loss of 20% extra damage for 10sec for a boff.

JH boff shroud seems to be different rules from what the player can do. Let him use it whenever he wants (not that you can control it anyway).

He also gets a boost from Ketracel White. Give him plenty. He also can use the bonus with the JH ground set, so I always outfit my JH boff with JH gear.

If you have to go borg, you can get the fractal remodulator (only 4 painful seconds instead of 6 agonizing ones). Or get a couple of stacks of pre-remodulated frequency packs. Whatever their actual name is. You can find a lot on the exchange or craft some yourself if you are able. They are consumed, BUT they also last several times longer on average than the remodulator devices. Sometimes they are very short and you must remodulate quickly, but often they'll last 4x the normal duration of remodulator devices or omega rep set integral remodulators.

Just a heads-up on that front. A couple of my toons use them to great effect.

Engineer Boffs benefit from the "extra turret" and "extra mortar" doffs. Thus, an engineer captain and engineer boffs loaded full of turrets, mortars and a few mines (to catch enemies closing on the fabrications) can spawn oodles of extra pets.

As for equipment, give the boffs full auto rifles for the exposes and you can exploit with a split beam. In fact, I'd consider giving them the Jem Hadar set if you don't fancy grinding for reputation equipment.

If you aren't taking a healer boff with you (to maximise the number of pets), then look at abilities like shield recharge and shield pulse to help survivability, the health and shield regen on the jem hadar set would also be useful.

The nanomolecular architect trait is an obvious candidate for this build, and pick a kit frame up on the exchange with a [turrets] modifier so that the pets have a little extra punch.

I have mine set up to tank. He wears the Dyson set and I keep Ketracel White, shield modules and hypos. He always seems to cloak when he is low on health then pops a hypo comes out of cloak and demolishes everything around him. You may be better off with another Tac BoFF though, because you can't get the CPT Only skills for him as an Engineer. That's why my Engineer is a Naussican right now, but might switch him to a Klingon.
