    T5U is not obsolete by a long shot. I've leveled 4 T6 ships for their traits and leveled my T5U Science Oddy. It's got all Mk XIV gear 50% of it Gold.

    I'll be more than happy to PvP anyone in their Tier 6 or Tier 6 Fleet (when they come out). Stats are better on the Oddy than the Guardian right now. When T6 Fleet comes out they'll be pretty much in par except the extra doff seating :/

    Also for anyone that is unaware. If you own a Legacy FPE, ie the FPE with the Pre-Tempest Layout. Upgrading it meshes your Legacy with a Tempest FPER Layout.

    You will lose your Lt BOff Universal and your Lt Cmdr Tac BOff station will be turned into a Universal Lt Cmdr BOff station. Youll also gain the TailGun and your ship will identify as a FPER on the info tab.

    The only thing you will retain from the Legacy FPE is the Console layout with the added 5th Tactical Console.

    I will have to look further into it but I am unsure if your FPE gains the Shield Modifiers and other differences between the Legacy FPE and the FPER.

    I'm not saying that it doesn't matter. I'm just asking why I should believe that it has "pretty noticeable advantages", especially when the claim is subjective.

    Whether T6 ships are "better" on paper than T5-U ships or not, especially from only a 13th BOFF station has no bearing on if T6 ships are "better" in practice compared to T5-U ships. Other things come into play. Even if you consider the T6 ships flown by the same captain as the T5-U ships, each ship is different. Each scenario is different. Blanket claims on such a miniscule aspect of a ship does indeed amount to nothing more than opinion.

    I'll say it once more: So what? Why should that 13th BOFF power matter to the rest of us?

    Your priorities are your own. If it doesn't matter to you then it doesn't matter to you. I will even take it to the logical extreme and flat out say if you wish to fly a T1 ship or a shuttle knock yourself out and have fun.

    Just don't spread misinformation is the only thing I would ask. A T5U is still viable and effective. They are no longer top of the line overall (that'd be T6 lockbox) and while in some specific cases a specific T5U Fleet Quality may outperform a specific T6 Fleet Quality if and when a T6 Fleet Quality ship is released with a similar design even those T5U Fleet Quality will be obsolete.

    T5 = viable and effective
    T6 = new hotness

    Oh and as a side note let us not forget that less than a week ago you could go as low as T1 and still claim the viable and effective. But we are now in an era where developers are flat out admitting advanced content difficulty is purposely designed for 'more skilled players and those who have invested in the game (ships and gear)' which further complicates the issue but is a bit off topic for this thread.

    Dang man, I've only mastered 2.9 ships. How many civilizations have you killed so far? :P

    3 ships here. been playing elite and struggling to gain skill points at 60.
    How on earth did you get enough points to fully master 9 ships unless you've only mastered them on tribble.
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    Team up with a group (preferably someone around 50-55) and go to Japori system and pew pew over and over. In like 30 minutes or so you should have one ship leveled up.
