I couldn't stand it anymore, so I bought the Phantom Intel Escort [T6], and I love it so far, but I would like a Hangar Bay with 1 wing of Peragrine Fighters, because I do miss the one from the other escort that I have is the Armitage Heavy Escort Carrier.

I think it's a great ship, but I just don't think it benefits from any of the Intel Powers other than Kinetic Magnet really. I think there's a lot better ships out there than this, though I won't go into recommendations and such as I have yet to try out this ship extensively enough, and I am yet to upgrade several Escorts. But when I do, I'll be sure to drop you a post/message giving you my thought.

Also, it would be nice to see your build if we could?

    Thanks,
    Brad.

There are a few intel skills that are very effective.

intel team that cloaks you and dumps threat is very effective. for a low hp escort like the phantom.

Evade targetlock, subspace beacon, even viral impule burst all have there uses in pve and pvp.

Oh your build could be much better.
First, use 5 tactical consoles of the same type, get rid of the biofunction monitor.
Also, get a better shield then mk x borg, maybe an a maco or romulan covariant, or a elite fleet.
Just use 1 energy type of weapons, antiproton or romulan plasma or diruptor would be beneficial.
Get rid of the mine launcher, add either another turret or the omni antiproton+obelisk core if you go for antiproton weapons in general.
The omega plasma is a very weak torpedo after the nerv, use maybe gravimetric or romulan hyper, or a fleet photon if youre not repped enough.
Your boff skills are also not so well together.
First, get rid of the mine patter, add apo, or crf3 or maybe a nice intel power, havent tested all of them yet.
For start: two times tactical team 1 2 time intelteam and 2 times cannon rapid fire.
Your sci and engi skills are ok.
May not be perfect as im not ready withntesting yet, currently looking for aux2bat, or other cd reduction, maybe with new gel pack+ specialisation+xindi boffs or something when i find something better i will tell

Here is what im thinking of as a aim so far :

no offense man but your build isn't perfect either.

-you can't run more than one copy of tact team. because of their global cooldowns, you just simply can't.
-stealth module is probably one of the least useful consoles ever. if someone is specialized to cloack detection, he'll see you anyway, there are a lot of far more useful univ consoles you can put to those two slots.
    -resilient over covariant. always.
-an elite fleet plasma-integrated core could feed the DHCs better (also, use one that diverts part of your weapon energy to another subsystem like W->A)
    -no RSP?
-only one type of attack patter?
    -why torp at all?
    -no subspace field modulator?

also the skill layout is far from perfect, no aux, wep +power, no armor, not to mention the completely unusable ground skills.

i'd aim for something like this:
    http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/?build=intelescort2_0
decent space skill layout but also usable on ground.
    <3 Defiant <3

RnD and upgrade needs less RNG. Less lottery. Something has to change.

Just a suggestion: don't waste money with escort ships.

devs are doing all they can to make escorts TRIBBLE: first they excluded escorts from PVPs, cause now cruisers and science vessels deal more damage and are near impossible to kill.

then they excluded escorts from PVE too, making enemies unkillable with tons of HP.

    The result ?
Escorts are no more useful, not for pvps, nor for pves.

I just hope people to not spend money anymore, cause devs are ruining this game with their greed.
But if you want to spend, just don't buy escort ships.

No you can't run more than one Tac Team at once, but you can chain two of them. While you can get the same effect as using two Conn Duty Officers to reduce the cooldown, he stated in the notes that he wasn't sure what he wants to do with them yet.

The third Tac Team, however could just be a place holder to use a third Rom Tac Officer with Superior Operative for the extra CrtH and CrtD.

Both builds are obviously works in progress.

To be honest I think it's a pretty worthless skill. Against another player it just prevents them from selecting you as a target, they can still shoot at you (especially with something like FAW). Since NPCs don't actively select you as a target, won't make any difference against them.

I'm not even sure the threat reduction is working, since I was spamming this ability like crazy in ISA and yet I was still getting focused.

The only reason to take it is for the +10% defense and having it as a counter to the Intel-ships "gather intel" power.

Sorry, the tt 2 should be a torp spred 2, however you can chain 2tts or alternativly use atb or 2 doffs.
Stealth module was the third worst console, however it is now efficient for intel team, as with 2 consoles it gives enough stealth for the averange player to not detect you anymore.
Rsp is not needed at all means, but if you want to use it, use it.
1attack pattern may be used with doffs to have it on global, or change torp spread for another attack pattern.
Devices are taken from ops thing, dont have much experiences here so i dont give advices.
Torpedos are because the op had one, and i wanted to give him a build with not too different specifications.
And the build is just combined in 5 min, so yes, there may be a few errors

Intel team cloaks you.... It's effective in both PvP and PvE... not sure what your talking about. I have flown into a dozen NPC ships while having threat on them and used it and all of them stopped firing at me. Also how close were you and how high is your stealth skill. NPC's can still "detect" you.

Evadetarget locks breaks CC effects such as tractor beams and torp locks. But ya you can be seen. But it does give you another CC break in pvp.

With rock and roll, evadetarget lock, omega, intel team, polarize hull, evasive manuvers you can make your self immune to CC for a long time allowing you to keep your speed up in pvp and not get tractor lock killed.

Actually this updated one helps better, but I kinda want to find a replacement for the deflector, and maybe the impulse to possibly using the fleet ones. Please let me know what fleet ones to use. I'm auctually kinda tired of looking at borg stuff on my ship. Thats pretty much why I would like those replaced but I'm not sure what ones I should replaced them with.

Build Link is in the Description

If you don't have DCE doffs, get em. At least Rare. Get an Antimatter doff for Aux to ID. You can get the conn doffs for TT or not. It's PVE so you don't strictly need to have it doffed and you then have two doff slots available for different sorts of builds.

The first 4 doffs aren't negotiable. Get them, you will use them far more often than you can imagine.

You don't need to see borg stuff. Just disable visuals. This build is lite on repairs. Full borg has repairs. Keep it.
If you don't have that much crit severity consoles, don't worry. Just use what you have.
If you don't have fleet engineering, don't worry. Don't need em. Use some nice repair or power transfer manifolds. Do NOT use normal armor. Complete waste of space on this build.
Use some nice shield emitters if you have em.

    And have a ball.

And to all those players that used the term "global cool down" in a post, just so funny. I mean I know what you're trying to say, but still hilarious. What you're looking for is 'system'. Global means 'everywhere'. Like...Global Freight! they go everywhere!

It's not my fault...according to the Bartle test I did a couple of years ago:

    Explorer: 87%
    Killer: 73%
    Achiever: 33%
    Socializer: 7%

I absolutely love the Phantom. It's everything I wish the defiant was even look wise. Does great deeps and has amazing survivability for an escort.

This isn't a deeps centric build, it's just something I find survives well while putting out respectable damage. When I parse it in PUGs I run 2-3x the damage of the next highest player and that's on a really good run. It's designed for moving around more than park and shoot and I love torps so that's why there's the single cannon and torp up front. For more movement single cannons and a vaadwuar torp rear would be really fun.

The lack of intel abilities is simply because I've found the tac and sci abilities to be more useful in PvE, intel abilities are mostly great for defending against intel abilities and exploits. Ionic turbulence only replaces APB because it does more damage resistance reduction and makes citadels dance. :D

Also it looks amazing, I have all the visuals turned off but I feel like this skin was designed for phased biomatter weaponry.

I don't have hard numbers, but in Normal PVE I see both pairs of tac abilities (CSV, APO, TT, and the singluar APB) free to use frequently. It almost feels like a free Zemok or two.

As I said, no numbers, just going by "feels".

EDIT: More than a Zemok, almost like A2B for tac skills...

Interesting reading, love the ship myself and fly one with what i feel is a good build. The problem? I cant seem to squeeze more than about 5-6k DPS out of it, however this problem isnt unique to this ship, every ship i fly seems to read 5-6k.

    Heres my build:

Any advice? People tell me it could be due to how im using my Boffs but they also dont offer advice how to effectively use my skills etc.

    Just my opinion:
I'd switch off dual banks and get dual heavy cannons
I'd replace the engine with the Rom engine.
Also it look like your tac consoles are for beams...I believe the ones for the typ of energy your weapons do are higher.

Mixing beams and cannons was always a no no i have been told, 2 sets of boff skills to buff both cannons and beams when you could have 1 to buff cannons and beams plus something else is always better.

Will look into the rom engine.
I have [+Beams] because i cant afford to buy specific weapon types every time i switch damage types.

Now wait.. it depends on what your doing.

DBB+cannons is very effective in pvp. Mainly used for a BO after the cannons strip the shields off a target. it also works in pve but its mainly a pvp build set up.

You can also go with a all DBB+Omni beam in the rear. this gives you a lot larger area of attack. unless you able to afford wide angle cannons.

The counter-command rep engine and deflector are great for escorts as well.

    You're welcome.

It's actually at the point where I might slot the Delta rep console and add Intel skills instead of dual-running Tac skills, and still have excellent uptime.

    Ummm... what? since when?

Only time weapon type console is if your mixing damage types.

Other wise you should always use damage type consoles. Damage type consoles are higher percentage + damage then weapon type. Such as fleet version Phaser is 31.9% and cannon is only 27.9%

I cant see your BOff layout besides the Universal Slot. Ill assume your Tac BOff is using something like TT, APO/APD, FAW, APB. So it may be that youre not popping things in a manner that capitalizes on everything. If you have APB. Make sure not to wait to fire after popping it as its only active for a very short time.

I typically pop APA, TF, TT, C:RF/C:SV (FAW For those that use it), APB (in that order) then hit the fire button. Shields disappear like they never existed and I take atleast 25-35% of the Hull with the first volley.

If you require a second run at the ship, make a hard turn, speed up, get to the distance you think you need and pull a U-Turn.

I dont know how much DBBs cut into your Weapons Power Settings. But Id probably throw a EPtWs on there if it is. Also might want to invest in Weapons Batteries for when its on cooldown.

Id also try to move some skill points around to get your Weapons Targeting System Skill up. When your Accuracy exceeds the Targets Defense. The overflow will turn into Critical Hit and Severity.
