So I saw that I had an extra BOFF slot on my ship and thought cool! Went to the bridge officer requisitions officer and saw intelligence officer boffs awesome! Found on, an engineer, that had some skills that I was already using and a few others that looked pretty sweet, so I dropped some dil and got him, named him, clothed him, gave him a comfy sat on my ship what more could he want? Hell, my ENTIRE senior staff is women it should be a dream come true for this guy.
Only, he didnt want to use his special skills because I am not in an Intelligence Ship okay, fine. I get it. Its not like I dropped a lot of dil on him anyway (about 450 I think) so really no complaints there. I just think hed show a little more gratitude for basically being allowed to serve on what would equate to the Love Boat of space
Granted, I thought this would be the case. What would be the point in an INT ship if the INT officers could use their skills in any boat, so again, no real complaints. Also, I am sure this was written somewhere in some blog or post or update that I have failed to read, so the onus is entirely on me.
Just a forewarning to others who get entranced by these officers if you dont have an INT ship, dont hire these BOFFS. Theyre lazy, stuck up and refuse to share their toys.
Haha, yeah, this was perfectly explained to us in a dev blog quite some time ago.
Thankfully, though, if you want him to still be useful in that BOff seat, he can still train in his basic career abilities. It's just, in a non-Intel seat, you can't slot in any Intel abilities.
You can still use their intel ground abilities can't you?
yes, you can use the intel ground skills and, if desired retrain the intel officer's space skills to ones they will use on a non-intel ship.. _ (IE . for example an eng/intel officer can use any of the base engineer skills on any ship.. intel on non.. just need an intel ship with the boff in an intel slot to use the intel space skills)

I know a few people who didn't catch that in the blog are were upset about it.
LOL, imagine what you can do with a BOP with boatloads of Intel BOFFs
