problems running the game

HI - I did post this in PC helps and tips and bug forums but no responses.
I only get a black screen when I get to what should be the character screen. I can hear the music but can only see a black screen - no toons.
I can get round this (sometimes after half a dozen attempts) by launching in safe mode but as I say this is not consistent. It's beginning to get really annoying.
Anyone have any ideas? My graphics drivers are up to date. No issues pre-Delta Rising
