maybe someone of you can help me out as I can't find anything about it in the release notes:
Have the skill point rewards been cut in half for standard missions and replays?
and, in addition, have the Doff Skill Point rewards been reduced drastically to lev 11 plateau???
If so, is there any way left for ppl with only a few hours playtime a week to level toons without grinding war zones / killing units? (a casual stf is out of the question right now, due to time limitations of RL)
best regards
inci
PS: before some ppl are raging - I know leveling was a little easy before (e. g. DOffing on KDF).
however, right now doing 1 replay mission a day (at 700 Skill points each) or getting 1-2k XP from DOff (instead of 2-15k on a properly organized DOff mission schedule) would resullt in 200-400 days to level from 50->60...
It does seem to be taking longer to level post-50, however there was a double xp event running for (I think) about a month before DR launched which has ended now. So this might be skewing your (and mine tbf) perception maybe?
In any event, I've found that Tau Dewa patrol missions give quite a bit of xp for not much time invested - plus you get Rommie marks for them too. Something to consider maybe - you should be able to complete at least one full set of 5 missions in around 15-20 mins at most. Hope that helps?

thx for the reply!
the Skill Point rewards for a normal mission before DR was ~6k (~12k during the event)
thats why it feels like playing a lev. 1 toon again with an impossible XP gap to overcome
I do the TD Patrol from time to time,
its 1 thing to do them casually on max chars
grinding them on several toons in order to level is far worse then grind stfs in order to get marks and dilithium :-/
I think it might be cryptics idea of slowing down leveling! But given I've seen people power level to 60 in a couple of hours. Personally I've made it 55 since yesterday without any XP boosts, just got the game set to elite. So I hazard a guess that what cryptic tried to do with this aint working that well.

There is a lot more points to reach levels past 50. Basically there is just about the same amount of points to get from lvl 1 to lvl 50 as there is to go from lvl 50 to lvl 60. It's not that you have less points being rewarded, it is that it takes more to make the next level and rank than before.

No problemo:)
Kinda sensing a few tweaks in the next patch. Level of rewards across the board are earning a lot of justified forum complaints atm.
There's more to what the OP was saying that what people are acknowledging. I just did a bunch of patrol missions and I'm sure that they used to give like 2000 xp but now they're giving around 900. Some of these things got cut.
Yeah, the grind is so insanely bad that people leveled to 60 in less than 6 hours.
Just by playing you get to 53 by playing 2 story missions and the first patrol mission set.
Damn... this insane grind. This takes by far too long.
Cannot help, it will probably take the really slow guys till Sunday to get 60. :P
^ this was sarcasm.
well, I don't doubt that its possible to level that fast.
If I had the time to explore all those options, I wouldn't have asked about Mission and Doff Rewards (as the latter one took only ~5min a day before DR to earn several k of XP)
look like I have to explore other options
therefore, I'll appreciate any contructive answers/ideas
PS: massively grinding is out of the questions for several toons due to a lack of time, although I recognize that its the common road in STO most of the time (and the easiest for many ppl)

They also reduced it from Tribble this past weekend, which had the event turned off.
Guys if you're having issues with xp, switch to Elite mode and do system patrols. I was getting just shy of 2,000 xp for EACH Kazon carrier I killed! Leveled up in no time .

I'm aware that it takes much longer to reach the next level from 50->60, I just search for a way to accomplish lev 60 on a few toons in 2014 with just a few weekend of spare time left (and Doffing for exampe was a pretty effective way to do it before)
your quote regarding the total amount of points is a valid point, lev 50: 363k XP, lev 60: 758k
however, as stated above, the XP-rewards for missions and Doff have been nerfed
exception: XP for killing mobs seems to be the same as before

thx for that advice (although slightly off topic), I'll try it soon.
However, this is also a form of (XP-) grinding...
pointing into the same direction as many changes in this game:
shifting from story or teamplay-based progress to some form of "solo"-grinding, even in
And you get 4,000 for harder than usual story missions, so that's only 100 times you have to replay those per character!
Cryptic has been nerfing everything consistently for the last 2 years that gave the players any kind of enjoyment.
I said before that it isn't until now after they spent all that time deleting stuff like vendor trash, tour galaxy, mirror event leveling, etc. etc. etc. etc. that their vision for the game is becoming visible.
Extra hilarious too because weren't people already buying lockbox ships non stop and they doubled their staff from what they told us.
I really don't get what the point is to spend all this killing the game just to find out where the choke limit is?
/edit
ps. and it's kind of doubly tripple funky because more than anything it's going to punish new players not to say that everyone won't have a terrible time.
I just assumed that since they seemingly have so little interest in people going sub or LTS they were in there to attract new people LoR style so yeah
I don't see how people can be complaining about 'grind'...
I have not had time to do the new episodes (12 hour shifts) and am already 75% towards 51 from collecting the 23 assignments I had queued the day before launch...
If anything, that's too damn'd quick to level if you ask me...
It took just around 24 hours before people had established themselves in sector space inviting people to group, working around the sytem, no story missions and no queues, if that doesn't tell you something I don't know what will.
People are now annoucing runs in zone chat and it's been a day they had to find a work around
Ironically certain patrol maps in a group are actually way more fun than old eSTF used to be
There have been numerous threads over the years asking to slow down the leveling process. They complain about how they're at level 50 before they're able to finish all of the missions. You can thank these people for the XP nerf for completing missions.

They want you to suffer more grind, so you're suffering so much you pay to make it end, or just quit STO.
