So the first thing I did was try Infected Advanced to see what's what. The first time we failed on the first transformer. The 2nd on the 2nd. In both cases you get 10 marks. See ya. Enjoy your hour cooldown.
This is quite a challenge on time alone. The enemies don't really hit that much harder. I wasn't killed in either run. But there's quite a few more of them and they are a little sturdier.
I haven't upgraded my ship yet but I don't see that mattering much in terms of dps. These will be an interesting challenge. Should be fun. I'm heading out of town for a couple days but I wanted to see how hard it's going to be. Looks to me the answer is pretty challenging indeed.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again."
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
there shouldn't be an increase in HP, so how did you fail?
I tried with all 4 characters now. 3 failed on the first transformer. We were very close this last time. Someone used their gravity well properly but we couldn't destroy the transformer in time. Would need 2 ships with gravity well or the like.
It seems like the countdown doesn't start until you destroy all the introductory ships - so maybe time is not too much of an issue. I don't know if this was always the case.
Basically the transformers seem roughly twice as sturdy so perhaps level 14 gear will be sufficient to get them down in time - or just a little more practice. Definitely not your grandma's ISE.

hmm, I guess they did change their minds and increased the difficulties, even though the increase in difficulties was supposed to go to elite... while advanced would fail if an optional failed.
I completed the crystalline advanced. This took about 1/2 hour. I would describe it as roughly 10 times more difficult - mostly in terms of crystalline hitpoints, though he also does a cool dance and maybe throws some abilities.
I can see many groups not being able to hurt him more than it heals. It's healing like a champ. It was fun but I don't see running this more than once a week or so. I had done it daily on 4 characters.
If they stick to this difficulty it's safe to say there will be a lot less dilithium in the game - or at least people will have to seek alternate sources.

As a final update, I completed ISE. They don't fail you on advanced on time as it took some 45 minutes. Overall I would say it's easily 5 times harder than crystalline. Again, it's a fun weekly challenge but several times a day - no way. Maybe it's a change in philosophy for the game but people really will not like this.

I thought they said that the old elite was to be the new advanced as well. There wasn't going to be any real change. This feels like it is the new elite more than anything. 800K+ hp on assimilated birds of prey is rediculous. Having one noob now is probably a guaranteed fail... Rewards are less... I've been a lifer since the begining of the game and this better be a bug or I think I will end my support for the game and move on to a newer game.
The cake is a lie. They gave you kool-aid, and you drank it.
They are pulling a money grubbing bait and swap. If there's enough outrage they may eventually revert, but this is intentional. Just as the witholding of ship upgrade module prices was. Just as the nerfing of all rep point income, all dill income, all EC income. It's intentional that you cannot play the game anymore unless you pay out the butt for everything. Because if you don't? You simply can't play anymore.
Well if the advanced queues being buffed to nigh impossible is intended - then it's a good thing that BNPs and Very Rare mats were added to the normal queues so people can get better equipment...oh wait - don't think that happened.
I'm going to give this a try when I get home, but sounds like things are going to be out of my ship's and ability's league (6-7K out of my Gal-X).
The Conduit advanced was... dull. More spheres and they definitely have more shield and hit points. I died only once, we took down the transformers but took too long to get the optional.
I liked it better when they boosted there engines and shot all over the map. This was just kinda painful to sit through since it was so boring. Definitely needs an adjustment.
Tried Cure Advanced tonight. It was pretty tough going, ran out of time.
The enemies were not exactly hitting harder but they were a hell of a lot tougher and almost unkillable, plus they shot back at you too.
Although only the ships coming to hit the Kang seemed buffed, the stuff round the shipyards seemed unchanged.
I think potentially if you had enough sci boats to keep the NPC's from swarming the Kang with crowd control you could possibly just go all guns blazing and try to flatten the dockyards with massive DPS before the sci guys run out of control abilities or get overwhelmed. No idea if that is possible though as I doubt you could hold off 3 waves of BOPs and then several waves of Raptors and Negh'vars too.

They already have your money silly lifer.... You leaving just reduces the requirements to run the server.
Difficulty got cranked to 11. Looks like it made about 5 people happy, but most players are just pissed off.

No. It got cranked to 11,000. What you're seeing (Advanced) should have been absolutely unchanged from previous "Elites" (they lied). Now think what it's like at "Elite" on the new system. Under "Elite," the optionals are MANDATORY, and hitpoints are an order of magnitude greater. They have at least 10x hitpoints over normal Elites from yesterday on Elites from today.
Please (please) post your ship tier level (T5, T5-U, Fleet T5, Fleet T5-U, T6)
Help us to understand what level of starship you're taking into STFs, PUGs...
It's going to be interesting to see if ship tiers are affecting the game play. I wouldn't blame consoles, abilities -- or the player's personal skills. I'm wondering if the STFs/PUGs are being purposefully inflated to drive players to upgrade from T5 to T5-U (or Fleet T5-U) or T6.
IMHO, if most everyone is having problems with T6, or Fleet T5-U, then Cryptic bears responsibility to make some corrections. Or lose players (aka customers).
Wellcome do Doom Rising. Didn't you read in the Tribble Subforum?
It was allready talked about there.
Cryptic finaly made the game "harder" by simply givining all NPCs much more HP and stronger shields with next to no shield migrating damage. Even this little Kazon fighters, that are mostly hold together by Duck Tape and proud do have the same HP as a sphere had before DR.
Many players wanted a bigger challenge. Now they did the most simple thing as it seems.
Its even worse with the Borg because the Borg now got a very high shield resistence. That means that as long there is a shield up to a facing (regardles how weak it is) only a very small amount of hull damage will be dealt. I would around 5% of the damage is migrating the shield.
Together with a very good shield regeneration, constantly balancing out all shield facings and the high hull regeneration you only do damage after you finaly got a shieldfacing down. You can see that if you compare the Tac cube in ISA (infected Space Advanced) and the gate. Both got 7mil HP (yes, around 7.000.000, the CSA got 21mil) wich is 5 or more times more then it had before. Even the small spheres running around with 600.000 HP. But the tac cube takes much longer. It was hammerd by all 5 ships and for some time it seemed like the shield does not even go down a single bit.
On the other hand all borg dish out far less damage. My BoP can tank very long and is not invisibleshoot at more then 12km. It seems like torpedos now pass away after a certain distance and not just get invisible and still hit. And the regulad damage is lower too.
That means the team has to concentrate fire on one ship and at best at one shieldfacing. But even tac cubes rotate as fast as a Peregrin turns around so that is not that easy against borg.
Beside that drainbuilds are worthless now too. Before DR i was able to fire a Tyken in the spheregroup in ISE and after some seconds all spheres where deactivated (weapons offline, shields offline, engine offline). Now i can't even suck the power out of a Kazon fighter.
We speak about tyken 2 and a maxed out skill. Something should happen there...
Or in other words, wellcome to DPS-online (also known as Escorts online). Just bring some heals and CCs with you and you are wellcome.
Oh, I promise you they've lost a lot of customers already. Almost half the people I talk with in-game are of the same opinion as mine.
And I also promise you it was 100% intentional the way they did this. They may backpedal and protest it was a bug or an accident, but it wasn't. No more than when they introduced rep and removed all dil rewards from all missions. They backpedaled there but only after MUCH anguish and loss of customers. I don't think many came back after that. I stopped seeing a number of fleetmates even after HALF the dil was restored to missions. Now they want to limit us to A QUARTER of what is HALF of what we used to get on a regular basis, meanwhile having EVERYTHING cost hundreds of thousands of dil, if not millions of dil.
Dil demands are so bad my flet is still only t3 after years of grinding. It will never get to T4 if cryptic forces these changes to be permanent. There will be nobody left. We'll all have quit.
Get it, its WAI (working as intended)
The whole time DR was on tribble it was like it is now on Holo.
And all that was said by the holo-players was allready said by the tribble players. It is how they made it "harder" as the players wished.
Only problem is, it is not harder or more challenging but just longer and more boring.
And if you want DI, play KDF.
And don't miss another thing.
There is next to no loot in an advanced run. In my ISA run only the tac cube dropped a green XII shield and one sphere droped one thing for gambling. And i got 1 or 2 bats. And that with way more enemys around.
Clearly something was either mixed up or messed up in the way advanced queued events interact with the curve to level 60.
It would be great if the Community Managers would let us know that they are aware of the issue, and have passed it along to the Devs to investigate.
No matter what kind of spin they may put on it, this is purely intentional. It fits their behavior patterns they have been introducing for the past 3 years. Why else do you think they took their ONLY interactions with the playerbase to limited scope, 1-way media? We know all their BS and call them out on it. The solution? Remove any way for us to call them out. Rely only on pre-scripted, pre-agreed-upon interviews and podcasts. Avoid the public perception of disgrace which might shake their asian moneybags backing the company now.
im kinda interested in what you would consider harder because i went in with my Mobius Upgraded on CSA we got it all done even optional objectives was very hard and i pulled every stop off with a Mk XIII UR weapon system and console setup it is challenging and i like it that way so kudos for cryptic for makin a genuinely rewarding but rough new STF system.
NPCs that don't have to rely on brute HP and some firepower that sometimes simply can oneshoot you.
Enough?
Ok, here is more.
NPCs with at last the same amount of abilitys a player gets, maybe even more with a base ability layout for all ships (like all teams, transfere shield strengh, hazard and so on, survivability) including special console abilitys and traits (even from rep if you want) mixed in some nice combinations that can outcounter you or you have to counter., who have at last the same cooldown on their abilitys as a player (or slightly smaller) and that are used smart and not as dump as the AI does it now.
I want a ship using its RPS when the shield is realy close to compleatly down because every other time you can do it with tac team or by manual shield energy transfere and not at the first hit.
In other words i want to fight a aux to bat cruiser that is using RPS or a sci ship that is activating RPS and return damage as soon as my escorts starts its alpha.
And i want to fight groups that work together. A healer that is holding back and a guy that goes into mele with your ship to drag you away and similar stuff.
I realy enjoyed fighting the Elachi and I enjoy fighting this one new enemy from DR that is using some more abilitys. But on most enemys it is just shooting down huge amount of HP maybe with many enemys around.
Regardless wich option you use. The braniacs will fail to both types of enemys. But maybe when using my way they would feel like idiots because they where beaten by a "smarter AI" (a bunch of scripts is not an AI for me) and leave...
There's a pretty steep difference between flying the normal and advanced versions. One is way too easy, the other is more difficult by order of hit points only. It does not make for fun content. Count me as one who would like more competent opponents. Flying my freshly upgraded Fleet T-5U Nebula.
im kinda interested in what you would consider harder because i went in with my Mobius Upgraded on CSA we got it all done even optional objectives was very hard and i pulled every stop off with a Mk XIII UR weapon system and console setup it is challenging and i like it that way so kudos for cryptic for makin a genuinely rewarding but rough new STF system.
See, now here is, where this post is a complete flop (lie).

All these players that wanted a "challenge" could have the "new" Elite and it's fetish abuse-fest.
