If you are not a lifetime member and pay the monthly sub apart from vet rewards if you have all the unlocks its better to cancel and spend the amount of the sub money on zen. stipend 500 zen buy for same price 1500 zen.

Not as bad as I thought. Because honestly, the fact that Cryptic was holding out on the price had me deeply suspicious that despite the previously stated price point, they intended to significantly exceed 1000 and were trying to delay the inevitable outcry as long as possible.

I am glad to be proven wrong.

700zen for an upgrade token seems completely reasonable to me.

my 3 fed toons use the avenger, so i must buy 3 upgrade tokens? if yes that sucks

never my romulan will have their ships updated; they use the fleet dhelan, 700 zen for each of them, no way; and i loose also my obelisk carrier

I'll advise you to get your information straight before ranting. One token will upgrade a ship and it's fleet version account-wide. Although it's beyond me why you would fly the same ship with three characters. But to each their own I guess. :P

Last I looked FM's were selling for aprox 9 mil ec EACH (thats a 500 zen item from the store), so my math puts it in the 50 mil ec range.
Last I checked they were selling for around 6 million, but I am not in the game right now to check; but even your 50 million EC figure does not change my point. It is possible to go from a free ship to a T5U Fleet ship without spending any real money - and that does not even include Dilithium.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Just because the shakedown is a few hundred less than expected doesn't mean the whole thing isn't an unnecessary shakedown we will not get much value for.

500 would have been less insulting.

I was hoping for 500 or 1000 so I could buy exactly the zen I needed with no change, oh well.

I was expecting it to be either 500 zen or 1000 zen, so I got 1000 zen.

If it had been 500 Zen I'd be able to upgrade 2 ships and if it had been 1000 Zen 1, but its 700 Zen which means only 1, but I'll have 300 Zen left, any suggestions on what to spend the 300 left over Zen on? (I don't do lockboxes or buy dilithium).

You can see what the price of upgrade tokens are...then buy keys and sell them with the EC going towards another upgrade token

Sell master keys on the exchange to build up EC for gear upgrades?

700 is actually on the cheaper end of the scale between 500 and 1000. thought I'd point that out.. ;)

When we wanted to buy fleet ships, not really with an upgrade button, but still a simple upgrade of our older ships, we had to pay up to 5 modules for 500 zen each. So 700 zen for upgrading seems very fair to me.

2700 zen for a ship that will not be as good as a T6, especially the fleet T6 ? Lol.
And 3K zen for a T6 was expected. Overpriced and all, but expected.

But then, they'll keep selling, and probably even more, since old ships will become increasingly obsolete, with new ships being added, and harder content. The same people that complain will be the first ones to open the wallet, we've seen that over and over.

It's a bit sad all those people with more words than will.

Where do I find the Starship Upgrade Requisition tokens on the exchange?

They don't seem to be listed anywhere, can't search for them.

People might not yet be selling them; as they are probably using them as quickly as they buy them.

One of the best ways to play this game is to do so as unintended by the devs: with patience. Use your vet, gamble box or holiday ships until you can buy a token with EC.
    Leave nerfing to the professionals.

It would not be that bad if it actually upgraded your ship to T6, but it only takes you to T5.5. Considering what most have already paid for ships, this is not a reasonable price. If they need money, they may need to re-evaluate their F2P model and stop nickeling and diming everyone. They need to give an incentive for people to keep subs. Right now, you are better off paying the $15 a month for Zen, rather than subbing.

I bought a set of 4, and I put one on the exchange, and it never came up. There doesn't seem to be a category for them, and it's not searchable by using All. So I thought I would post here to see if anyone else had luck. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong :P

Hmmm... 2700 zen for a single toon unlock. Chel Grett, here I come.

    Got mine prepped and ready:D
Last I checked it would upgrade that ship for your entire account, but I have not checked for some time. Of course that does nothing for you if you only play one toon.

I am formally sidelining another toon to go to just doffing, because of this. Though since I keep the option to use Vestas on multiple toons, I could switch my sidelined toon from Surveillance to Recon if I wanted to capitalize on the ONE upgrade token I am going to be buying...it wouldn't be too abrupt of a switch--just one change in console slotting. But I am most definitely economizing on this.

I tried on my toons and it seems to be per toon not per account. This really annoys me as I could have used the Zen I spent for something else.

Okay here's the math. T5 Zen ship 2500 Zen, Fleet Upgrade 500, New upgrade 700. Total Price 3700 zen

    T6. Price 3000 Zen.

so you pay 700 more for a ship that will not match a T6 ship. RIP OFF!

You still have to go through the upgrade process on every toon. It's not automatic, in case you want to keep your ship as-is. The difference is when you come down to doing it on your OTHER toons, it does so for free.

    This per dev commentary.
