Known bug, or just part of the gamble?

I went to upgrade a console and spent all morning getting the dilithium I needed. I finally got enough and selected the upgrade option. It said it would be around an hour for the upgrade to complete so I went on playing.

A minute or so later I noticed the status said "claim item". I thought it was weird but clicked it. It gave me the console back with no upgrade what-so-ever, and took all the tech points and dilithium away.

That's the first time it's ever happened to me so far. The console was the science one that increases maximum shield points, if that helps.

    Make sure you are not overlooking the extra mark numerals. What mark was it supposed to upgrade to?

    If it was already Mk XIII then all that you did was give yourself one chance of a rarity upgrade, which failed, and which rolls over to the next time. Mk XIV is currently locked.

    STOP! Max out the level already. Like with the other post have mention. I have alloy that's like that right now costing more than I had expected when this Upgrade plus Chance was available to all. Now I am just using the bonus ones to upgrade ground gear I use that cost like 130,000 in EC if you don't use bonus plus 3K in dilthum. Quit while your ahead!
