Make full auto rifles more... full auto-y?

apsciliaraapsciliara Member Posts: 247 Arc User
Currently, full auto rifles don't feel very full auto-y. They have short breaks between firing sequences, which makes them feel more like a semi-automatic. My request is that the cooldown on the primary fire be removed completely, similarly to the Plasma Piercing Beam Rifle available from New Romulus Command. This will make the weapons feel more full auto, and therefore better (after all, who doesn't like more dakka?).
Or, alternatively, rename the Full-Auto Rifle to be a Semi-Auto Rifle instead.

Like a modern version of a tommy gun, Yes i agree with you on that. However if Cryptic do change it,it will be a miracle.

My away teams exclusively use Full Auto for the realism of soldiers using Assault Rifles. It is great for me, but I could definitely use better timers for that Secondary fire mode.
I completed a 2-man CSE, ISE, and KASE, Optionals included. And I soloed Winter Invasion.

Can we still get the low mark white Romulan auto plasmas?
I might try upgrading them and equipping a lot of them, if that's the case.

JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

Yep! I've gone ahead and done the same, and it is beautiful :D Honestly, the full auto and the miniguns all need to work like them. It'd be so fuuuuun

The Full-autoss are reallly a 3 shot burrst, but as pointed out, you have the white rommy plasmas which are really full auto, and if you hit the alternate firing setting, it goes into minigun mode!

I only wish you could get them as MK XII Purple though... :(

you used to be able to get them as MK XI purple.... until they scrapped the dil store

now, the only way to get them is to upgrade a white one, a real shame too, the dil store versions have unique models too, which cannot be obtained now, not even by upgrading the white version

cryptic really needs to improve the baseline weapons effects(with the exception of pulsewave, and high density beam).

the assault minigun doesn't feel like a minigun(both in damage and visual effect)

the blast assault feels incredibly weak for what is supposed to be a heavy weapon(also both in damage and visual effect)

the full auto rifle could benefit from getting visual effect similar to the romulan auto rifle.

but i doubt they'll ever fix it, since they expect you to use lobi weapons/rep weapons/etc, but it would be nice to have better effects for the fleet weapons at least.

You know, i would love to be able to trade in the big balls of energy for the slim "shards" used in the miniguns or romulan white plasma animation.

The big blobby balls look silly on anything but a sniper (because obviously you'd want as much whoomp in that energy release as possible if you are making a sniper...)...

Well, this issue does affect the Omega Antiproton Autocarbine as well, so who knows?

I can kinda get where you're going with this. "Full-auto" feels more like a semi-auto firing 3-round bursts.

It shouldn't be that difficult to change. The Romulan Repeater pistol already functions like a full automatic. The plasma charge basically represents a clip and you can fire until the charge is depleted. Need to have that functionality introduced to all "full auto" weapons.

The thing about full auto rifles is that most people in the real world don't actually do more than a 4-5 round burst with them (unless you have no skill and you need the whole magazine just to hit something :P). If you wanted to up the number of shots in the burst to 4 or 5, I would be fine with that, but just eliminating the burst mode isn't realistic. If you wanted to increase the time the secondary fire mode lasts or reduce it's cool-down, I would also support this.

Support 90 degree arc limitation on BFaW! Save our ships from looking like flying disco balls of dumb!

I'm fully aware of burst fire, and I don't care, full auto is more fun :P Besides, you can easily have a similar effect to burst fire by just holding the mouse/whatever fire button for a certain amount of time anyway!
