Gorn Boffs and trait placement

Well i think its time to take a look at the most unfavored KDF bridge officer the gorn. It has 3 fixed traits Cold-Blooded, Resilient and Reptilian strength and only one trait left to be determined. The problem is that Very Rare Bridge officers normally have 2 superior traits, the way the gorn is made locks them to only one superior trait even if they are very rare.

They should be fixed to randomly make one of their natural traits a superior one in addition to whatever superior trait they get, also i am not sure but i think gorns can't have bite as a trait lately as i have never seen one with that trait and i have been playing for quite a while, but the diplomacy reward boff of the federation do have the bite trait.

As a side note i think the gorn boffs should have some more clothing options, like for example the tattered loincloth you see some of the gorn npcs walking by with.

True, this does make any Gorn Very Rare BOff turn into a mere Rare as soon as you add them to your roster, which is kinda lame, but look at what those three "non-superior" traits give you:

Cold blooded: +10 Plasma damage resistance, +25 fire damage resistance. (Superior grants +15/+37.5. Fire is an environmental hazard and only Borg use plasma, so no big deal)

Reptilian Strength: +17.5 physical damage, +17.5 knockback (compared to +15 physical damage for Superior Physical Strength, which only Caitians, Ferasans, Pakleds and aliens can get. So this Gorn "standard" trait is better than the equvilent "superior" trait accessible by handful of other races.)

Resilient: +5 all damage resistance (Superior is +7.5. It's less than upgrading your armor by a mark.)

So the Gorn lose out a a bit of damage resistance with their standard Cold-blooded and Resiliant traits, but their "standard" Reptilian Strength trait makes up for it by being better than the "superior" Physical Strength trait.

Bottom line, the Gorn don't lose. In fact, uncommon and rare quality Gorn BOffs are better than the equivalent for any other race, by virtue of a built-in "superior+" trait.

(Note, this is only for Ground. The Gorn have nothing to help them in space, but they're not a lone there. I think they should have access to the Efficient trait, especially Sci and Eng Gorn BOffs, but that's probably not going to happen.)

As for the costume options, you're on your own there. Chains and loincloths, IMO, look stupid on a technologically advanced spacefaring race. I'd much rather see the TOS Captain's tunic.

While what you say is true the reason for my disagreement is that fed diplo gorn boffs do have two superior traits and sometimes they have superior bite, in addition the saurian boff also has similar traits to the gorn and gets is two sup traits and two normal ones
