(somewhat) canon Orb Weaver build?

Hi all,

I finally opened my Orb Weaver, and I confess I'm a little at a loss with how to set it up. I'm not married to using tetryons, but I would prefer to stay away from romulan plasma; I know it's the best, but it gets a little boring slapping them on every ship.
I'm going for a pure PvE build, and my biggest two questions are:

1. What to do with the Lt. Commander universal slot. I was tempted to make this Sci, but I already got Gravity Well on the built-in Commander science station. The ship only has a Ensign tactical station, but it kinda feels like overkill making the universal Lt. Com into Tactical. (The ensign seat has Tactical Team; I guess I could stack high yield torpedo, beam fire at will, beam overload?)

2. What space set to use. I'm tempted to use the Nukara set for obvious reasons, but I also already used this on my Recluse, and I frankly don't know if it's that great. I guess this is what I'd need if I stick with tetryons.

Any tips????

It may be far from canon (then again the Orb Weaver isn't canon anyway), but I like to use gravimetric photon torpedoes from the Dyson Reputation.

    Its pretty simple:

Give the Science Commander slot Grav Well III and Tykens Rift II.

Make the Lt. Com. universal a tactical and give it Torpedo spread II and III.

    Here's the fun part:

Drop a grav well on a cluster of enemies so they are stuck even closer to one another. Fire torpedo spread of said photons. At spread III it works best. Every torpedo salvo has a 33% chance to create another anomaly. What this means is that your targets will be clustered and take an insane amount of damage from the grav well and the (likely) multiple anomalies spawned by the torpedoes. If the enemies are still alive, just drop a Tyken's Rift for more damage and power drain, so they can't escape as quickly. Then follow up with your second torpedo spread.

This way, I managed to build a science vessel with nothing but photons and max aux power, but great CC powers. In my case, I combined all this with a mixture of Counter- Command and Dyson Ordnance set for even more photon damage.

The shields deflectors and engines are relatively open, but I supposed the Adapted MACO would be good because 2 pieces unlock an extra amount of torpedo damage.

If you want a Tholian-appropriate setup, then the Nukara sets, refracting tetryons and thermionic torpedoes are the way to go.
