Ok guys, so today, roughly 3p.m. Pacific, I logged in. Last night, I did the very depressing math to find out what it would take bring enough gear up to mk xiv so when I get my first intel ship, it can be ready to go out of the gate with competitive gear. 301 Upgrade Kits, 354k dili (not planning on going gold) Now the most daunting part of this is Craylon. As i plan on utilizing cannons, I'm going to need 85 Craylon for all the upgrade kits it will require. Now I have 17 as of last night, so I've prepared myself for a seemingly neverending stream of Defend Rhiho Elite, and Transdimensional Tactics (not bothering with Self Destructive as you seem to have buffed that mission into unplayability). When I took a break for dinner it was approxomately 7:30 p.m. Pacific. Care to take a wager how many Craylon I walked away with? That's right, 0. 4 and a half hours, 0 Craylon. That is flat out absurd and needs to be fixed.
I understand you guys wanted to fix the drop rates/rewards of STFs, and while I do miss getting Borg Neural Processor drops of 15 and 21 on occasion, I understand, I really do. But you want me to play this game. I want to play this game. You wan't me to spend time and resources on it. But if I'm going to spend the time, I want the resources to come out of it. I'm not saying I need to be given 21 VR crafting mats each time, but I don't think it's so far out there to ask for a minimum of 1 each time With a chance to get 3 or 7. But having people do the same missions over, and over, and over, and over, for hours without the ONE thing they want from it is a recipe for burning people out on the game.
I am beginning to agree, as during even the bonus week, I got maybe 200 total vr mats, and I am willing to bet a good majority wasn't from the bonuses.
The average time I noted seeing a VR drop, was 1:10-15 boxes opened, meaning it took quite literally 10-15 advanced boxes, before even 1 vr mat showed itself.
I'd like them to fix the doff crit system (purple doffs should be worth more towards crit chance) and guarantee a VR mat when you crit with a doff R&D mission.
I dunno. I think the rarity of the materials should match it's drop rate. So it should be "very rare" to have the item drop. However the math on that is supposed to be, I'm uncertain. But to ask for at least 1 drop every run is not something I would - or should - expect.
Having said that, I do agree that the current drop rate for VR mats is ... skewed.

It is a peculiar phenomenon that we can imagine events that defy the laws of the universe.
