Cryptic has decided a long time ago that this game is too complicated for the intended target audience.

Shared Cooldowns? Forced to decide between a Polarize or Hazard? C'mon people, y'all are aware it's impossible to choose the right abilitiy without a PhD in Rocket Science....

Long Cooldowns, shared Cooldowns, general awareness, foresight, pre-planning moves and combos, that's sooo 20th century. Not suited for the facebook generation.

Winner, winner. Chicken Dinner. As is said in my neck of the woods.

Yeah, that's my schtick...that Geko wants puppies to be able to play STO on an iPad. :P

It is even more a puzzle why are they boosting old OP ships that you can buy for EC while they are at the same time trying to sell new t6 ships for ZEN/$.

    Does not compute.

The FSMs can't exist without somebody having spent some ZEN/$. Add in that the T5-Us whether T5-U or FT5-U do not unlock Starship Traits, you're looking at folks buying T6 ships for Starship Traits if they'd prefer to fly a T5-U ship. They might not mind giving up the Lt -> LCdr or the possible Lt Hybrid seat for a ship they feel is better overall than what's currently being offered at T6 even in speculating on the FT6 variants.

Basically, Cryptic's coming at folks wallets from all angles.

Because to get the ec ships you need to either grind like nuts and also be patient to gather the resources, either sell something that you end up getting by buying zen, especially if you want the "op" escort, or Sci, or you name it. So, it still comes up to spending some cash at some point. To be honest, they have a great system and game mechanics to make you spend money, and from pve point of view, this is great, for pvp it gets expensive due to the pve grind involved.

The reason is simple, they will sell better ships that will outplay those ships that get a buff now. NOTHING in this game is for free, if they give you an upgrade for free is because they plan in sell something better.

Go buy the vesta pack, and wait wait 2 months for a fleet t6 vesta-killer

Man I loved that game. So glad I owned the original one and not the Mr. Dream version.

Heh that video brought back some memories, I owned the Original Punch-Out on NES and Super Punch-Out on SNES. :)

On Super Punch-Out I was doing speedruns, bottom line of the game was pattern recognision, but it was so addictive lol. I think I have the cartridge still laying around somewhere...

The only thing that's missing is a macro that activates all of those with a button press... And bind that on spacebar...

Not a big deal. Anyone could make one. It would just take 47 presses of that button.:)

I think you mean a script. That would break the EULA or something.:(

Correct. I meant a script made by cryptic to help everyone with an addition of an "easy button" .

at this point, might as well, though I do understand the perspective of people who can't fly without klikkies, rep, doffs, gadgets and gizmos.

flying without doffs or rep or traits in too much imo. We played that in past seasons, and 99% of the builds were the same, all escorts were running the same build, all cruisers were running the same build, it was kinda boring in that aspect. I like the idea of having many sets, doffs, powers, etc..but the clickies consoles has always been stupid, and now stupidity have less cooldown
Temporal backstep reduced to 2mins? what is the current coldown, 5 minutes? yeah there was a reason why that coldown was so long..and even so, the console was OP as hell.

Just had a thought about the Tempest. One more console slot, a highly dangerous series of nukes that can be used every two minutes now when you have the alpha coming. Just brutal.
