Error retrieving list of characters

I had just finished the last stint of Friends in unlikely places (helping Hugh free Borg), clicked on the pop up to exit the system and the game crashed.

Upon relogging I now keep getting error Login2_Timeout when it tries to retrieve the list of characters. I've added another character in the hopes that it would update the list but no luck...:(
(Holodeck is no problem so it's not a connection issue)

edit: seems I'm not the only one getting the error

I get the same thing. I have email help desk so many times about it, but nothing seems to gets done about it. Starting to wonder why I bought the game.
