Starship Mastery Traits in DR

It's my understanding that trait packages are keyed to ship types and that once a (non-exclusive T6) trait is unlocked on one vessel, it can then be applied to at least any T5U/6 vessel of that type: cruiser/escort/etc. Is it possible, however, to mix traits across different ship classes: unlock a trait on a science vessel that can then be used on a battlecruiser?

Though the ship mastery trait system isn't running on tribble ATM (slots are there but the new abilities to test are slotted in the general trait category) it does appear that you'll be able to freely mix traits between ship classes. For example say you unlock the tac-oriented trait that gives you bonus beam damage.

You can [in all liklihood] use that on any ship type you want. Cruiser, escort, sci-vessel, flying shoe, anything even a vintage constitution class since you slot these abilities as traits for your character (not items for a loadout.) That's basically the key selling point of these traits (a character-level perk for buying c-store ships given that the consoles are now usually all ship-specific.)

They did say that the Trait, once unlocked, can be used on any ship. So Cruiser, Escort, NX, whatever.

I want "reciprocity" to be available to kdf and romulan ships too.

Better there should be a way to "share" this traits among all factions.
