Hi Captains,

We will be bringing down Star Trek Online tomorrow, Thursday, September 18th, at 6AM PDT (click here to view in your timezone) for our weekly scheduled maintenance and to perform system upgrades. There are no patch notes, and we expect this maintenance to last for 4 hours. The test server, launcher and access to manage your account may also be unavailable during some portions of the maintenance.

Thanks for your patience and understanding,

- The Star Trek Online Team

The length of the downtime often has little or nothing to do with the size (or lack) of patch.

Maintenance doesn't equal a patch. It's just convenient to do both at the same time.

2 hours of it is for network maintenance and upgrades, plus then I assume the extra 2 for their normal weekly maintenance.

No. One is effecting all cryptic games, and PWE titles that have east coast servers, the other is Cryptic specific maintenance :P

They are having a live-stream within this maintenance time-period so not all is lost. Sounds like this live-stream might give more insight into Delta Rising too.

Praying they fix this Connection timing out issue when doing zone transfers. the "Connecting to login server time out is nice as well" but the canned email was awesome too!

are you kidding? unplayable lag since late last night/early morning CST US... I am not at all surprised they're working on it.. was great before then..then i got the lag hammer of doom. rubber band lag, dropped from server lag, spam fried on one side lag...it's definitely time for them to kick something over there lol.

Considering how smoothly it had been running for so long, I'm not even going to complain :)

    And we're back to normal.
Your time zones are off by one hour. You give maintenance times as "6-10 AM Pacific (1400-1800 UTC)". Either - or. 6-10 AM Pacific (PDT) is 1300-1700 UTC. Both can't be right, and it's only confusing if your information is contradictory.

I'm gonna be up for at least two more hours.

The converted time is wrong. It says its feb 14th, 2014, and the time says for me 12:30am which is wrong as it should be 10:30pm

4 hours and no patch? what that means anyway?

Typical 4 hours downtime could mean they're doing one of these below:

Scheduled Server Migrations (4 hours) Required maintenance for the attached server.
We will be performing a required power maintenance require a power down of the attached server and migration to another area of our data-center. We are allowing a 4 hour window for the maintenance to account for any unexpected issues that may occur, although we anticipate downtime to be no longer than 4 hrs

    Time will only tell!

For the last few months, meowntenance times have never been below 3 hours anyway, so it turned quite normal anyway. I think the normal meowntenance time now is 3 hours, and extended is 4 up to 6 hours, and when a season or expansion patch is applied, 8 hours. Anyway, I'll be at work, so I don't mind. :P

Ok, so on my launcher it says maintenance is 1400 - 1800 UTC, I checked the utc time by googling "time utc", according to Google, it's 12:59 "Ok, I've got an hour then" I thought, logged in "Attention captains, server will be coming down for maintenance in 5 minutes." to which my immediate response is "f***ing what?" O.o

Of course, if they just invested in a healthy hamster redundancy then this would never need to be an issue, just saying. ;)

Unless it's bee resolved recently I think it's because verizon is in dispute with cryptic's ISP (forget the name).

I have fios too. Lately the connection's been fine but a few months ago it was unreliable.
