R&D duty Officers

For the level 15 crafting stuff you need special R&D duty officers.

I know they drop randomly from the academy mission, and it was mentioned they are in c-store packs.

my questions are, is there an easy way to find these on the exchange? does anyone know their names because there seems to be no way to filter them out.

do people know if they do drop from c-tore packs and what types of % is there to get one. If I need R&D beams then what is the likelihood i will get one?

Are there are other ways to get one?

Thanks

*There is no easy way to find them by themselves on the exchange
*Some people were kind enough to throw together a list of some names to help your search: http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?p=19040041#post19040041
*The drop rates are probably really low
*There are also some in the Xindi lockbox (again, low drop rates I'm sure): http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1168081

They need to add the R&D doffs to other methods of obtaining doffs like Asylum and exchange officer assignments. Unfortunately, right now they are tied to dil/EC sinks if you let go of the holograms for lack of space.

You can also get a shot at a purple science doff once a week from the Tau Dewa Aid Science assignment. The odds of getting a purple are low, the odds of a getting a purple Research Lab Assistant are even lower. I did get 2 Rares though, very happy with that.

Those can't be used to craft the level 15 items though because they don't have an R&D specialization. They're good for other research projects and such though.
