"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects." — Lazarus Long --->Get the Forums Enhancement Extension!
Not a lot new there but i would of preferred to explore the gamna quadrant in a new exploration revamp. To boldly go where no one has gone before is the star trek motto. Not to boldy go sight seeing were others have gone before or as it says in my sig.

There seems always backlash when Cryptic dares to get creative and create stuff that is not related strongly to canon. People want their canon ships, with canon races, against canon antoganists, visiting canon planets.
It seems to me that a lot of Startrek players are here to relive Star Trek experiences, not to create completely new ones.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.

'Rivera explained that players will still be able to get marks and other rewards that they currently receive in the level 50 queues; the highest queues that require an upgraded ship just offer more rewards.'
'I sat down and talked with lead designer Al Rivera about the game's history, its development ethos, and where the game is going with the upcoming release of the second expansion, Delta Rising. It's been a long process, but Rivera shed some light on how the game is designed by its modern team, why things launched the way they did, and what players can expect as the game continues toward its five-year anniversary.'
does this come in part two of the article? or was that it in its entirety?

It does seem odd, but I can't blame them. The only problem is there is a finite amount of canon stuff and they will run out eventually. This next update is going to take out most of the explored Delta Quadrant, and while there is still a fair bit of the Alpha/Beta Quadrant to fill out, there is inevitably going to be a limit, at which point they are going to have to get creative and people will just start attacking them anyway (see the Tier 6 designs not looking like "Star Trek").

i took to the hakeev and the tal shiar storyline really well, despite it having no basis on trek canon for the most part, i dare to question his actions and he acts typical arrogant villain style, just fun to watch. brea, dewa iii, virinat are not canon, neither is almost everything elachi related, how it all ties into the iconian main plot, fascinating story play.
its stuff like that that makes you want to know whats next and how it ties to the iconians and everything about the iconians except some generalization about the race and a console are nothing more then non canon, yet its all good.
as long as the storyline is good, im good with it as long as it ties neatly and snugly on sto canon.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
