Lobi Sale

Didn't I read somewhere the other day that Lobi items will not scale to XIV. So what outside of a ship would actually be worth spending it on if that' true (and maybe ships aren't worth it either)? I'm really confused by it all, as one of the big bonuses Cryptic uses to push key and pack sales is Lobi, so that you can buy unique awesome gear and ships. But if it's all substandard now, are they going to dump a whole bunch of new XIV gear in there once DR starts? Is the sale just trying to drain lobi with garbage? Or did I misread something?

    Rumor is they get upgraded to purple so their general quality goes up and there is a way to make them Mk xiv. Possibly through crafting

    Thats my take on it. Get some of the current lobi out of the system so people will need to buy more when DR hits.

    The ships get a free upgrade to T5U, so they're a good buy if you happen to have the Lobi on hand.

    Otherwise, I wouldn't bother with anything else.

    I would wait for the T6 Lobi Ships, just 5 more weeks to get a superior Ship.
    Beta, LTA, CE, Multiple preorder Versions, all Addon Packs except AoY, nearly all KDF/Rom and ~50% of all Fedships, over 25 LockboxShips, Endurer of Atari's "Year of Hell", but...

    dont waste your lobi on stuff unless they post exactly what will happen to all that stuff

    if they want your lobi spend they should tell us what happens now not after

    Delta Rising really tears me up. What I have played so far seems fun. The problem is that Cryptic ruins everything I would buy to support it. Ships? No more canon designs at top tier. Lobi stuff? Stops leveling and will probably need a so far unknown amount of extra resources. Costumes? Don't need Talaxian stuff. Where the Gre'thor am I supposed to put my Zen? I'm a hardcore Trekkie and somehow I seem to have fallen out of STO's target audience.

    On tribble you already have kits to upgrade gear, even if it's not functional yet. With dilithium and (many) kits, you'll be able to upgrade your gear up to MK XIV, and if you are lucky, according to the tooltip, you might even increase the rarity of the item (IE a rare item might become very rare).

    Of course, you can expect a huge grind between the kits and the dil, but technically speaking, you will be able to upgrade them.


    Anyway, I don't see anything interesting in the sale. The ships will be subpar compared to T6, even as T5U, and the gear will also be subpar until you grind for it. So unless you go for cosmetic/BOFF, it's not worth it IMO.

    RE: the lobi sale - I bought a recluse, 3 ship items, and a few ground items like 2 days ago :( now everything is 100-200 lobi off. this really sucks :(

    Thank you for all the responses so far. What I was honestly about to buy for one character was the Silent Enemy Set that has no set level and is supposed to scale to character but I don't know what it will do in 1 month.

    Then i would save the lobi, 1)space equipment do not get the discount and 2)it seems that infinity ends at 50 (at least for Cryptic).

    We've recently found out that the current levelless gear will not go past mk 12. So much for those spiral disruptors I recently bought explicitly because they would level up with me after the expansion. So spending anything on any gear between now and the DR launch will leave you disappointed or worse
