Please use this thread to post all feedback and bugs found with the new Delta Rising Intelligence Bridge Officer and Powers.
Intelligence Bridge Officers and Powers
Players can now buy Intelligence Bridge Officers at any Requisition Officer.
They can be found in the Intelligence Specialists tab.
These Bridge Officers have access to brand new space and ground abilities.
In addition to the new bridge officers, players can now buy new Intelligence Bridge Officer powers at any Officer Training contact.
These powers are only available for Intelligence Bridge Officers.
This feature is not in a final state.
There is a crash which occurs when Romulan captains attempt to buy a bridge officer at the Requisition Bridge Officer contacts in the Flotilla and Romulan Command Center.
Romulan captains may purchase their chosen factions Intelligence Bridge Officers from the vendors found in ESD and QonoS.
Currently, Space Intelligence powers are not available to use but Ground Intelligence powers are.
Icons, animation, and power balance is still being tuned and implemented.
Just to chime in here, before the feedback starts -- we're perfectly aware that Intel Space Boff Abilities cannot currently be used on any ships players can fly on Tribble.
We're considering alternatives to potentially address this, but we're also going to performing a series of targeted Focus Tests with small groups of players that will help us get first-hand experience feedback on the Space Abilities.
For now, we're excited to start hearing feedback (and bug reports?) about the Intelligence Officer Ground Abilities.

We have already contacted our testers, as far as I know. I don't know the process for applying to future focus tests.
i'd need both hands to count all the bugs ive found and acted on feedback wile in focus testing ships in the past, so i'll keep an eye on my inbox lol.
my mind is very open on these additions, they could be a lot of fun. im not really getting a doom vibe from any, but there are several i want to be sure on
Never really understood this type of super closed testing. Surely feedback from all of us would be preferable to 10-20.
Just wondering what can be gained by only choosing a select few? Honest question...
How do you get the Intel Boffs to use their powers on the ground?
When I beamed down with my intel boff (a human engineer), the only BOFF power she had available was her engineering power. Am I missing something here?

Did you make sure to train and promote her?
We previously had an error where the powers were available, but just not showing in the UI next to their Group Unit Frame. Is that what you're referring to? If so, they should be able to use the ability, even if it doesn't show there.

Yes, I did. If it simply isn't showing in the UI as the issue, then I suppose I simply didn't see her use any of her powers.

maybe because they are all there to actually test it.......not to try and get advantages
Focused testing from people the Devs know have the ability to provide useful feedback and follow sound testing methodology is a good idea for Alpha/Beta testing.
Once they think they've gotten the game-breaking stuff under control, they'll open up testing to more people, don't worry. There will still be bugs left to find, probably, which is why they do ramp up the number of people able to test.
Please keep any off-topic comments out of this feedback thread. If you are actively testing this feature you are encouraged to post your results here. Otherwise, please hold off on commenting until you are able to test for yourself.
Thanks!

I wonder who they pick for focus testing. Seems not to be the people that find bugs in Holodeck.
i doubt that info will get released, it would just be a point where they get noticed and their friends start asking "hey i read your one of those tests playing around on a secret project for the intel officers, whats its about?"
in a brainfade moment that tester blurts out, "we are testing these t6 ships out with the intel officer ability! its a great deal of fun flying my scryer around killing kazon quicker then expected because of the aoe sub nuc."
yeah, never gonna happen. im just glad i wasnt a part of it because i would need pretty exact details on what they want and im not sure how cooperative the devs will be on the testing.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
Where can I pick up one of these magical boffs? Also..... Just throwing this out there....... Any way some of us can test these new T6 ships? Maybe some of us who bought the magic pack for the delta release?

At the moment, Tribble is closed to non-subscribers. I expect they'll probably open it up near the end of this month or beginning of October.

Tripwire Drone I: Seemed weak but has a cool graphic effect... not really sure I would continue to use it as an LtC power maybe a II/III power it would perform better. Just seemed gimmicky.
Site-to-Site Ensnare III: Big issues for me. My guy would activate this power and it would beam the enemies behind me and put them in position to do flank damage rather than giving me an advantage. I would always need to make sure that boff was at my side to make sure enemies weren't being placed on my backside. Maybe when the powers can be activated or deactivated by the player vs. the boff this will work better.

They focus test the new ships with a specific group of people, probably under an NDA.

I can confirm the BOFFs are using their powers, even if they don't always display in the UI. I wasn't looking at the group frame but I did notice they didn't show up in the Choose Away Team frame before I beamed down. During the mission I saw them use all their powers, and they were pretty cool.

Not an issue with the Intel powers themselves, but Elsa Mora appears to be lying to me about the gender of the boffs she has for sale. If I select Trill Female from the list she gives me a Trill Male instead. Also the genders on the list change every time I close and open it (maybe that always happens, I wouldn't know since I don't buy common boffs on Holodeck :P ).
Anyway, I took a couple of them to the Dyson ground zone with 8 intel ground powers and they're definitely using them, I just have no way to control their power use from their Team portrait icons like I can with Tac/Sci/Eng boffs.
One thing I noticed is that a boff that uses site to site ensnare seems to lose target lock on the enemy that they transport next to them, because as soon as he used that power he stopped shooting at that enemy npc and started shooting at a different one while the npc he brought right next to him proceeded to chew his face off. Or maybe it was a coincidence and the other enemy suddenly generated a bunch of aggro so he decided to ignore the target in front of him.
Nitpicking is a time-honored tradition of science fiction. Asking your readers not to worry about the "little things" is like asking a dog not to sniff at people's crotches. If there's something that appears to violate natural laws, then you can expect someone's going to point it out. That's just the way things are.
So far I have noticed that the tripwire drone gets stuck on every ground that not even, it there is a slight bump in the terrain it gets stuck there and just keep spinning until it vanishes.

I believe its randomized. You may either get a male or female officer from the species/profession selected (probably to keep down the size of said list at the expense of doubling/trippling the tiny amount of D charged)
Anyway I've been using the intel powers and though some (like the holo decoy and trip-wire mine) are very noticable visually I haven't noticed much of an effect on gameplay. Incite chaos for a start generally doesn't incite chaos because in most cases the target has a choice of up to 5-6 appropriate targets (ie. you) plus anything you've deployed (which for some builds is a lot). Using this in conjunction with holo-decoy seems particularly counterproductive, so it would be appreciated if the odds could be stacked more in favor of friendly fire or restricted to the closest unit to the target (which would have the same effect, it would build in a mechanic to strategize around, it would make sense, but all without cheating the system with an arbitrary odds tweak.)

For all you know, I'm a tester
I really hope they get all serious testers, top end pvpers especially. They'll have the maturity and competence to do the testing justice.

I actually tested one intel boff last night. The problem on ground is the powers don't show up in the UI to activate ourselves but the boff actually does use them.

I think the skill spec page for the boff seems confusing at first since the skills are broken out into four categories instead of two (Career ground and space, and Intelligence ground and space.) The ground intelligence skills are under the space section.

I tested the Male Betazoid Tactical one and the skills not that impressive but these are common boffs too.

Any chance something could be done to foster boff diversity by adding space traits to other boffs.
That's a much bigger conversation, for another time and place.
