In testing, never make your testers jump through unneeded and avoidable hoops, just to test something.

There is literally no reason for hiding these missions behind a grind on a test server, when it is the missions themselves that need the testing.

If they haven't got the leveling process down by now, time to find a new career..

I especially like the parts of this mission, where our diplomacy rank saves us from having to fight someone. Honestly, I feel this should be happening more often.

Same goes for when we fight just to disable the ships, rather than to blow them up, mindlessly, as if it didn't even matter. But, overall, I do enjoy the vibe, which shows how horribly in conflict Delta Quadrant is, with those missions.

A final take on when Octanti go all hateful on all Borg, no matter if liberated (Cooperative in this instance) or the Collective - IMO, a very nice touch would be, at the beginning, when they talk to your Captain, if you are a Liberated Borg Captain, they'd just shut down communication, spew their hateful litany towards you too and attack you, as you are also a 'plague'. Again, I feel player's choice of species, when logical, should make a small difference to the missions & reflect it - and this one is a shiny example. :)

or perhaps one of the things that needs testing is the pace and methods for leveling

Well interesting is that you got patrol missions and then Spy missions in this :

Legira : - like at these tiny pieces how to vaadwaur get to power

Normal patrols : Parein : change little the Info about the missions . When you add these Disable contacts - TRIBBLE/5 and after 3 of them there is talks, so kinda obvious, these talks will fail . Add there Disable x/3 groups. talks fail . Disable additional forces x/2

But towards this : this one i would put this as first contact with collective. Before the patrol which is friends in unlikely places

Orendal - if you go after flagship, its not visible and it got name BATTLESHIP

Nanipia and kendren - Ferengi black market ? didnt we just get to delta ? how can he have so much operation already ?

And in nanipia - really ? You really enjoying to send us wawes after wawes . You know more wawes doesnt equal to more fun

Patrol missions too repetitive, no originality, is not expected to be episodes

maybe if the new leveling was actually implemented you would have a point sense it is not though it's just pointless grind

currently it is not and just giving you skill points to spend instead of specialization points and when it is finally added we are just going to have to re grind any way as the characters we are currently grinding will be "broken"

Enemy ships are now a little tougher, I like that.
The backgrounds of the systems and the stories are very well done, too.

One system (Orendal and later Legira) are in another sector, please mark that, right now we only have two Delta sectors but this is going to confuse people unnecessarily.

Parein System: Story and Encounter were ok. (The Octain use Phasers)
Nanipia: Hazari ships are supposed to fight in pairs and support each other, but I didn't notice this at all
Kendren: Very nice Ferengi story! :)
Orendal: The Hierarchy Battleship had no model, was not visible.
Legira: Very nice purplish background! This mission had a certain "intelligence" touch to it.

All in all very nice. I hope you decide to give people some Delta Marks for completion, otherwise they will just rather grind Disconnected.

After having played through some of this its nice to see so many Delta quadrant races but the content is very boring and the patrol format is horrible. These missions should just be patrols not part of the episode content.

Shoot 5 thing is very boring and I would wonder as to why Cryptic would repeat a failure rather than learn from it?

My feed back is this: The NPC encounter need some serious tweaking.

I was point blanking ships with refracting tetryon beams and cannons as well as transphasic torps and the only thing having any effect in the encounters where any friendly NPCs that where fighting by my side.
A Trill, a Gorn, a Jem'Hadar, Bejoran and a Voth walk into a bar, and the Bartender asks "What is this a Joke?"
"Nope, just my away team" the trill replies before ordering a round for the bar.

Any idea why the Legira system patrol mission (Reconnaisance) is jumpy?
