they are basically yellow poloron weapons, have 3 mods, and no pol proc. but the placate scourge? the most hated enemy? its back.
the proc tool tip for these reads:
on hit: 2.5% chance unstable thoron radiation for 5 seconds
~1000 rad damage PER SECOND
-1% crit chance
-15% crit sev
target is placated, can occure once every 15 seconds.
that placate is unnecessary, the rest of the proc is plenty good without it, thats almost 5k rad damage every proc, thats 10 times better then plasma or some of these others
wile we are on the subject of the new rep, how about a rep trait that gives everyone a free copy of EPtE1? ya, +35 to flight speed, and +25% turn rate too. mvp slotable trait? i think so
*edit* in the trait window, tool tip actually reads +25% speed, not a flat +35 speed
another gives you 15% armor penetration, one heals hull 5500 on getting crited, and anotehr has an unknown number of stacks of 1.5% crit chance, that increases as you fire weapons. lol.
oh but thats nothing compared to their rank 5 active trait. its an AOE that on hit deals 19500 BASE knetic damage (100% shield pen), on top of a guarantied SHIELD OFFLINE FOR 8 SECONDS
*edit* on the ground its 308 damage, not 20k. probably a ground skill
I'm sure all this isn't final. In the past they've changed rep traits on tribble before release.
But really, new items should really come with separate pvp and pve mods. Even though it's more work, I think it would easier for them to balance pve vs pvp. Everyone can have their cake.
Is it a debuff or is DDIS simply using - as a bullet point. lol
i dint use them as a bullet point on the radiation proc. my spelling and grammer might be unrefined, but i am orginized. its part of the whole thoron debuff. rads, and - crit
that placate is unnecessary, the rest of the proc is plenty good without it, thats almost 5k rad damage every proc, thats 10 times better then plasma or some of these others
Agreed, the placate needs to go as soon as possible. Placates are terrible as weapon procs; Cryptic should know this after the Tier IV New Romulus mess.

well boys go ahead and give them feedback on what you think about this
Hold on, this Tier V trait looks like a ground combat ability. The way this ability is worded combined with the fact that we just got another space Tier V passive with 8472 means it is highly likely this will be a ground thing rather than a space thing. Could you please look at the trait on a ground map?
R.I.P PVP. It's been a nice ride... If final, I'm seriously quitting PVP. Really.
Also what ever cryptic is smoking-- They need to pass dat $%^& over here. It must be some good stuff.
The dress is gold and white. Over 70% people says so. When viewed from a certain screen angle it appears blue and black. The dress displayed on amazon is a blue and black dress, but it's not the same dress in the picture. If you're seeing blue & black you're slightly colored blind. A normal upright screen = white and gold.

im no ground expert, but i dont recall 20k being a hitpoint of anything but a boss npc on the ground

I think it is too premature to react on the changes over at Tribble. I agree that the placate on the weapons needs to go, but the reputation traits don't appear to be damning as of yet. The heal on crit trait needs a 20 second cooldown, but I suspect that will come around within the next month before this goes live. Additionally the Tier V ability is very likely a ground ability. Therefore it is senseless for Space PvPers to be up in arms about the ability before they know one way or another.
Wow, 25K shield penetrating damage. Heals on crits, because there wasn't enough of that junk going around with Romulans and the Valdore console. More armor penetration. Placates yet again, after we fought so long to remove the Romulan T4 placate.
Welcome to devs gone wild!
Oh yeah, and the mess with that trait on my sig, almost forgot.
This trait just applies -15 all damage resistance rating to the target (but only for your weapons) on attacking. Not all that game changing, but fairly powerful.
also on ground that tier 5 rep active only deals 308 damage, i think were safe, this is proboly a ground skill after all
heh, great, now we have an instant pop the engineer button. 308 base damage + Ambush (155% damage) + Target Optics (55% damage) + Strike Team II (+41% damage) + Motivation and/or Battle Strategies (25%) + Stealth Module (~27%).
I'll need to track down the damage calculation formula again, but I suspect this ability will have enough power to one hit kill ground players using a tactical captain if used correctly. This may prove to be problematic. That said we should be getting a hit point boost on the ground with Delta Rising due to the expansion. We should be fine providing the new ability can't get beyond 1,400 damage fully buffed.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
Although the thought process was going to be that the next T5 Active would be Ground, that's not a very Ground sounding name is it?
New Rom - Space (even though Omega had been around, S7 was called New Romulus)
Omega - Ground
Nukara - Space
Dyson - Ground
Undine - Space
Something - Ground
But that name...Concussive Tachyon Emission...if it were Concussive Tachyon Grenade, Concussive Tachyon Sandwich, whatever...but Emission, Emitters, it does sound Space, eh?
Either somebody will grind there and let us know or a few weeks after release we might get a blog about it.
Well, I might be in a small crowd here but I like the placate. I know it might have to be toned down, but something has to bring balance to the insane amount of DPS some players have. Being either I cloaked on and diving in less than 5 seconds might be fun for the victor, it is serverly aggravating for new players trying to break into space PvP. Don't get me wrong, I know good players can deny the vape and I amd not there yet, but some balance has to come into check. PvPers ask why PvE players hate PvP so much it is because of the shear unbalance of abilities that work for some classes and don't work for others, there is also a skill involved.
Trust me I am not taken anything away from good PvP vapers, they have great timing and know when to go after a target. Either way something has to brought into check. The crit chance needs to be lowered and a lilting that don't work because of counter built into the skill tree. I am sorry but I am a firm beiever in a viral matrix or phaser proc working as described in the tooltip. If they need to be adjusted with time and have immunities after words I am fine with that.
Something has to bring the DPS into check and if it is scramble sensor doff, AoE subnucs, placated, and disables that is fine. The one catch is everything needs to have a counter.
At first i was thinking.. "great, finally some new polaron weapons... time to try some new build on my jhas"... but just one second after I changed my mind: "placate? 1-.75^7 = .86... 86% to proc with an escort...and it's not the only way to placate your opponent... %$$%&&/!!!!!"
STO pvp is actually stupid enough that a lot of player do not play it.... this way is definitelly a gravestone!
RIP pvp!
edit...
not talking about another reputation.... grinding, grinding everywhere for everything...
The fun in this game is quickly ending, unless your fun is grinding!

Just to correct your math, it's not 1-0.75^7, but 1-0.975^7=0.162, or 16.2%.

Hopefully we can convince them to remove that part while its on tribble... more crit and rad dmg is plenty good and will have people wanting them.
But more seriously these are almost as good as Elachi disruptors.

So....any good space based pvp games on the horizon that don't include buying a yacht for the project lead?

Ground tooltips get a Space modifier while on Space maps. You need to look at the ability while on a ground map to get accurate readings.

Valdore console is OP, plz nerf. The heal trait should be fine if it has a cooldown.

Indeed, this proc would be powerful even without the terrible placate Cryptic decided to arbitrarily tack upon the ability.
Now that trait actually makes Science damage dealing abilities dangerous when combined with Sensor Analysis and a Science captain.
